A good book for parents too.

The book makes it easy to approach subjects that are awkward for girls to hear from a dad. As a parent, read it. It's approach will simplify some subjects. When my child doesn't want or need to hear all of my words, I tend to complicate them. I get in the way of that because American girl books are designed to let a girl read on her own and be alone with her thoughts. Some of the book is for younger girls but your older young ladies will pick out what they want to read. American Girl books are written well and presented well. My daughter loves them all and reads the books cover to cover. She reads them over and over again. Practical and real advice is presented in a way that a young lady wants to absorb. What more could you ask for? It was worth every single penny.

I will be ordering more American Girl books!

This was the first book I have read. I ordered for my niece. I picked this book because my niece is having trouble expressing her feelings and seems to be having some problems fitting in. The book has been good. I was able to give it to her before flipping through it. It covers a lot of topics and I am happy with it. It is easy for young girls to understand. I would recommend it to young girls. It had small quizzes to help the reader understand what is making them angry. The reader can see how the reader deals with the emotion and whether or not that works. There are suggestions in the book on how to deal with emotions.

Very helpful

The book is very useful for both girls and parents. This book is a must if you don't have a lot of communication with your daughter. After reading the last chapter of The Care and Keeping of You book, my daughter told me that she wanted to learn more about her, so I ordered this book. It brings up issues that she wants to discuss with me, and she loves it. It opens the door to communication in a way that doesn't frighten the parent. This book is a great resource for families at this age. Parents should read it as well.

Excellent - VERY Helpful!

Our family went through a real tragedy this year and we bought this book for our 9yo daughter to read. The book helped my daughter deal with her feelings. The book gave her insight into herself and how to deal with her overwhelming emotions. This is an excellent book and I think it would be helpful for any girl as she approaches puberty and starts to mature into a young lady.

Definately helps!

A great book for young girls. At the age of 9, my daughter began having moods swings. We got her a book to read so she could understand them. She saw that she was the only one who has emotional rollercoasters. She was able to see she wasn't abnormal. She reads the book whenever she feels upset. It will give her something to do to calm her down.

Really helpful book
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
The book has been great for my daughter. She and I have read it together at times when she needed help understanding her feelings. I think it's helped her realize she's not alone and that she's not the only one who feels that way. It has been a good starting point for us. If you need to help your child express her feelings in a constructive way, this is the book for you.

Great book for kids
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
This book is very good. It's a great way to start a discussion about feelings and a great way to express them. I use most of this information with my child and teen clients in my psychology practice, so I found this book to contain accurate information in a friendly user presentation. I bought this book for my niece because of her mother's death. She doesn't want to go to therapy, but this book has information she would get from a therapist. A good find! It is!

Not what I expected

I expected the book to be expensive, but I was disappointed with the quality. It did not meet criteria for a good paperback book. I am giving it as an add on gift to a little girl. I was angry.

The book is easy to read. It is a good book for young girls to read as they grow and start to feel different emotions and don't know how to express them. The book was reassuring to my daughter. It let her know that she wasn't alone and that her feelings were normal.
