Chris Hart has a head for figures -- human figures, that is. Not only does he draw them with incredible style and flair, he also has a friendly, accessible teaching style that makes his how-to books super-sellers. In this unique figure-drawing course, Chris avoids the usual anatomy lessons that intimidate aspiring artists and gets right down to the basics young illustrators need to get started. Starting with heads and facial expressions, he moves on to full figures, male and female, ideal and average, some in fashion poses and others in dynamic action. On every page, his practical advice and clear examples will help readers achieve terrific results -- and have fun every step of the way.

Does NOT teach!
Derived From Web , Dec 17, 2021
Just another person trying to draw people by keeping them in the dark, Does not show you how to design a thing. Not step by step, by any means. 1. No step 1 : No Step 2 : There are no steps involved. No technique is used. This is the last HOW book to draw I buy. Not well put together ''. I found myself bouncing back and forth waaaay too much. I am glad that it was used for 4$. That is all it is worth. Don t waste your money.

Not Great
Derived From Web , Sep 13, 2021
While this is valuable in itself for the beginning artist, it was not as thorough in its methods as I was hoping. This is made worse by the fact that the proportions are dubious at best in some of the illustrations. I am not an experienced artist, but I have looked enough photos of humans to notice when something is off. I think this book might be more appropriate for a young beginner who doesn 't have high standards of accuracy, but unfortunately it was not much use to me.

Love it! So helpful!

I bought this for my 12-year-old daughter, who absolutely loves to draw. She has been using it since Christmas and her drawing skills have really improved. The book makes it easy to understand how to draw the human body in the proper angles.

Excellent buy!!
Derived From Web , Jul 22, 2020
This is a must for anyone who wants to learn how to draw people. Let's face it, we're very intricate creatures and YouTube tutorials are not the best for slow learning. This has very effective, but yet simple instructions. I had artistic skills, but I had no clue as to how to draw people. This book allowed me to learn at my own pace and I sketched my very own character successfully! I am so excited that I was able to do this! As an artist, I gained so much confidence! I have recommended this book highly!

This book gives me hope!
Derived From Web , Nov 15, 2019
I really like this author ''. I have a cartoon book and a drawing happy things book of his that inspire me, but when I don 't have it in front of me, I don 't know where to start. Everything turns out wonky and I feel like it is futile to draw without looking at the instruction. At first, this book looked daunting to me, but I took a page at a time and focused on each figure. After a few pages, I feel like I am learning the basic structure I need to improve without being intimidated.

Worth it, even if its "for beginners"
Derived From Web , Jul 12, 2019
I bought it used and is in perfect condition! I needed one of these to help me with my anatomy and dynamic posing, and I am very satisfied with my purchase. It may be simple and for beginners, but I have been drawing for years and even I needed this book. Even those who have mastered art, highly recommend.

Practice every day, you will be surprised at your abilities.
Derived From Web , Aug 13, 2017
If you practice your time and take a sketch book and practice every day, you will be surprised at your abilities. This book is awesome! The trick is to review your time and take what you learned the previous day. I have a sketch book and always have it with me. When I have time, I take a seat and relax and draw. I have no drawing skills, so I start from scratch. I am pleased with the outcome and the relaxation that it gives me. A white pencil and a number 2b - plastic eraser and you are on your way. Good luck, everyone.
