Not bad, if you're a fan...

Overall, this is a cool book with lots of concept art and screenshots from the games. I am a huge fan of the FF series, especially the earlier games, so that this was a definite purchase for me. My only complaint is that this book is five pounds and is shipped in an envelope instead of a box. As a result, it can come with damaged corners or a dented spine. Amazon replaced my original, damaged copy in a very timely fashion, but the second came with some dents on the corners. If this is something that will bother you, this might be something you can buy in a store where you can inspect it before buying.

Awesome for fans of NES/SNES era FF who want a trip down memory lane

If you want an appealing nostalgia piece covering the first six classic Final Fantasy games, and you nerd, this is fantastic. The Ultimania guides in Japan are known for their extensive thoroughness and their crazy support direct from SquareSquare-Enix, with the caveat that if you don 't read Japanese, they are basically just collector's art books. The staff that chose what to translate and transfer for this volume did a great job. I was fortunate on shipping and arrived in a flawless condition. Anyone ordering books on Amazon knows it is just a dice roll, ordering nice books. Decent dice roll considering it's half off retail store.

Nothing Learned

As said in most reviews, the book is made of excellent material and is a joy to read, too bad that the shipping is handled destroying it, and no one does anything about it, so they just lower the score to most negative, and then start wrapping their products properly.

Not just an art book
Derived From Web , Jul 24, 2018
This book is mostly art, so that I will be able to play the 300+ pages in less time than it took to get these games. The art and screen shots bring back memories of playing these games over the last 30 years. But that is not all that book has. My only complaint is that the book was shipped in the box without any protective material, and the bottom of my copy has some dents in the cover. Sad for such a beautiful conversation piece.
