Book Overview

In this action-packed sequel to the New York Times bestselling Frostblood, Ruby must choose between her fiery homeland and the icy king who loves her.

Against all odds, Ruby has defeated the villainous Frost King and melted his powerful throne. But the bloodthirsty Minax that was trapped inside is now haunting her kingdom and everyone she loves. The answers to its demise may lie to the south in Sudesia, the land of the Firebloods, and a country that holds the secrets to Ruby's powers and past.

Despite warnings from her beloved Arcus, Ruby accompanies a roguish Fireblood named Kai to Sudesia, where she must master her control of fire in a series of trials to gain the trust of the suspicious Fireblood queen. Only then can she hope to access the knowledge that could defeat the rampaging Minax--which grows closer every moment. But as sparks fly in her moments alone with Kai, how can Ruby decide whom to trust? The fate of both kingdoms is now in her hands.

   a little slow, but good
I found Fireblood to be a bit slow at times and I didn 't enjoy it quite as much as I did the first book in the series. That said, the continued character development was really good and the story has now built up to an exciting point, so I plan to read the third and final book.
   Favorite book in this saga!
The second book is primarily set in the land of fire. It is fast paced, which is refreshing compared to book one. The plot corresponds to the nature of a fireblood, unpredictable and impulsive. I love the different side of Ruby, portrayed in Sudesia. It was a surprising change in the broody Arcus.
   Fantastic Sequel!
I have to say that Ruby and Arcus are definitely one of my favorite ships of all time. I definitely go with this ship down! This was, of course, an amazing sequel. I loved the plot, it kept me interested and kept me guessing what next was going to happen. I loved to see Ruby with Sudesia. One of the things I love most about this series is that I am fully attached to Ruby, I feel for her. Everything that is revealed in this book is sympathized with Ruby. I was unsure about how I felt for Kai through most of this book, but he grew on me really by the end of this book. A lot of questions are answered in this book, which was great, but some new questions and problems were revealed at the end to give us something to look forward to in the next book.
There were moments when I felt the plot slowed, but you can not help falling in love with Ruby and Arcus, root for Kai and gasp at the ploy twists. It is really a 4.5, but I give it 5 for the excitement of reading the next book.
   Excellent followup to FROSTBLOOD
I loved this sequel immensely, more so than Frostblood, which I enjoyed! '' Ruby was able to grow a little more both personally and in her power, though I still found some of her decisions frustrating. Kai was a welcome addition to the cast and I hope we learn more about him in Nightblood because I still have questions. Though it would be great to learn more about each character. It works for the books, though.

Ruby's journey has just begun, but it seems like it will not be an easy one. She goes to the Land of Fire Bloods and soon begins to learn her heritage and who is really who she is. There seems to be a beginning of a love triangle between her and another fireblood named Kai, but her heart is still tied up to Arcus. The Minax is still taunting and challenging her, but she fights it hard. The ending had me wanting more, but soon the next book will be out!
   Fire and ice collide !
The return to the Frost - Blood series is the Fire - Blood. A swift-paced adventure and lots of romance at every turn. I was skeptical about this book, but still had it! The first book was good, but not as exciting as I expected. The sequel quickly picks the pace at which Ruby is a fire blood in a kingdom of frost, trying to earn her place among her people. After storing the Frost throne in hopes of saving her kingdom, she loses her self among the enemies of the Court Elite and a target of threat. With the help of a prince in Döfe from an enemy kingdom, she escapes to the home of the Firebloods, where she must prove her self against the Fire Queen again. This book is amazingly written and will keep you up at night for just one other page! If I found this review is helpful, please rate it!
   3.5 stars
A good story that I enjoy. The characters are endearing and it has been enjoyable to know them more, and I can 't wait for the next book so that I can continue.
Just As Great As The First Book!
Elly has fantastic writing skills that draw you into her story and suck your heart. She makes you want to rally the soldiers and help the cause! Another third book and I can 't wait to read the great magical book!
This Book Was So Worth It.
I read the first book and fell in love with these characters so that it was a given that I would buy and eventually read the second. I bought the second book some time ago, but the idea of being emotionally crushed by the authors'well crafted words was not very appealing. I did the naturally thing that all readers do when they are not ready to read a book. I waited for it. During those 2 weeks, everyone, and I mean everyone, including their mothers, posted reviews about it. And oh my goodness, this book was so worth it. If you love well crafted words, fantastic character growth, suspenseful drama and realistic fantasy elements. You will definitely enjoy this book, but you don 't, it's okay. Some books are not meant for everyone, but this book was definitely meant for me.
