I'm not sure this is a first grade book

This is a very basic primer, like the books by Dick and Jane. I don 't know if First Grade has changed or what, but I bought this for a holiday book exchange for my first grade class and this was too babyish. He goes to the public school, where reading is pushed even further. Just an FYI, this is not like the captain underpants, Amelia Bedelia or the Magic Treehouse series. This is literally just the basic literacy level 1.

A good short story paperback book for beginners. Not too long of a story to intimidate a first-time reader. Pictures coincide with story for a better understanding and thought processing of words and sentences. I am 100% satisfied with this purchase and recommend it for other first time readers. The delivery was speedy and packaged nicely.

Nice surprise

Too bad the story was so cute. The illustrations were multicultural and I'm in school with the great children. It will have a wide appeal if you want to reflect a child or the school system. For the beginning reader, very basic. If I use different lunch food, she looks at the sides to correct me. My 4-year-old Grand wants to read and try it, but still wants me to read it so that it is a hit. You also want to read more, so Its appears to be a very short read.
