Great job, said Gammerman. I had him doing this workbook in kindergarten and over the summer to get a jump on first grade work! A great book, said Pauley.

Definitely for mid-year first graders.
Derived From Web , May 6, 2022
It had some tough sections, too. I bought this for my kindergartner who was starting first grade after the summer break and I definitely had to help her with the new topics telling time, counting money, completing sentences with the correct tense for the word... So I guess it's more of a challenge for kids actually in first grade but she was excited and eager to work on it each day. There were quite a few pages dedicated to various topics.

Love the chart!
Derived From Web , Jan 2, 2021
Great books! My daughter loves earning stars and filling up the chart in the back of the book! If she's close to filling up a line, she'll do extra worksheets! It's a win-win situation, Mr. Rule told the judge.

Grandkids like to play with these, too. They don't realize that they are getting some supplemental tutoring while they are playing!

The little star stickers in this book are a great motivator! Good content. seems slightly easy for later on in first grade but we purchased for our kindergartener who is entering first grade and it is right on point for him.

32 of 60 pages are cursive writing
Derived From Web , Aug 19, 2020
My grandson will start first grade in a few weeks as a workbook to supplement online learning and practice his writing. What a disappointment to pages 17-48 are cursive writing, and not third-grade level beginning cursive but fourth- or fifth-grade level writing full sentences such as "Holly" helped the hardheaded horse on the hill. Less than half of the First Grade Skills workbook is geared toward a first-grade student. The code on the bottom of the first-grade pages does not match the code on the bottom of the cursive writing pages. Clearly this workbook was not correctly assembled during printing. The Phonics for Grade First workbook I ordered today is completely grade appropriate.

A great book. My son enjoyed it very much through out the summer, said his mom. He enjoyed the star chart as he can stick a star for every page he completes.

I purchased this for my 5 year old to do while his sisters did their homeschool lessons. He has mastered most of the book. The pages were easy to read, and he loves them all.
