   Good, But Not Necessary
It seems to be completely unrelated, however. After reading both this and Flashpoint, I can say confidently that you don 't need to read it to understand Flashpoint. You SHOULD read Flash Rebirth, however. If anything, that is the true prelude to Flashpoint, and you will be lost if you haven 't read it. As for the book itself, it is a deceptive story, but nothing particularly award-worthy. There's an extremely great issue that recaps the life of the reverse flash. The stories involving Barry Allen mainly consist of him realizing that he needs to spend more time with his loved ones and eventually are just continuations of Flash Rebirth. Worth a read for flash fans, but not mandatory, as the title makes it seem.

   Great intro to reverse flash
The road to Flashpoint is a great lead to Flashpoint. Although short in length, it had miles of story line. The story and the artwork were again up to speed.
