Great informative book

As many do, we pick up seashells and other things along the Florida coasts. This is a great book in that not only does it cover the basic seashells, but also the other natural objects that one encounters while walking along the beaches. Great book to have even if one already covers other books that only covers seashells.

Super informative guide, broad and deep at the same time.
Derived From Web , May 13, 2022
I am amazed at the quality and quantity of information contained in this book. Every page has three or four color photos of covered items. These objects range from beach foam, over shells, plants, rocks, seabeans, floats, coins, fossils, birds and more. I was about to say that it does not have mammals checked, but nevertheless there they are. Each object has the scientific name, the area in Florida and season it might be found, color information on the photo and a Did you know section with fun facts. I have seen good nature guides, Sibleys, Audubon, Peterson etc. and this ranks near or at the top, yes, it's that many.

FANTASTIC!

I love this book completely! '' It breaks down everything about the Florida beaches in great detail and with wonderful pictures. I am so jealous of the authors - what a great job to have traveling, photographing and researching most beaches in the south! I will not travel to Florida without it being a fantastic job, Mr. and Mrs. Witherington!

The Best Nature book!
Derived From Web , May 13, 2022
Without a doubt, this is the best book around nature, and a must for every household with people living near or visiting our beaches. It is technical, without a lot of concise detail... a book for everyone, adults and children. The text is long enough to keep you interested and gives valuable information.

Easy To Use
Derived From Web , Oct 3, 2021
I was so excited to travel to Panhandle Beaches with my handy reference book to identify shells, birds and other sights of the Florida. Unfortunately, this book, while easy to carry, was a disappointment. Several things I found were nowhere in the book, including some shells, some birds, and even some seaweed. After all, I end up with several books to truly find answers and seek them.

Beautifully organized and illustrated book

This is a great reference for anyone who spends time at the beach and wonders, what was that thing I just stepped on? Authoritative scientific writing, but using layman terms.

Wow! Love this book!
Derived From Web , Feb 10, 2021
Spent a month in Florida with my family and we enjoyed exploring so much more because we could identify what we saw. Very well laid with pictures and information. Covers more than one topic. This makes it a perfect book to explore for a hike or a tidal pool!

Best Book I've Bought This Year
Derived From Web , Sep 29, 2020
Wow, this was the book I needed not knowing! Suddenly, I found myself in a whole new world when it came to shells and other items that were ashore. After a recent hurricane, I went several times a day to find new and exciting things with this book in hand. I love the feature, did you know, and the way the items are grouped. I'm so glad that I found this book!
