Every parent and teacher wants to give children the best education possible. Everyone would like education to be a joyous adventure and celebration of life, as well as a solid preparation for living. Sadly, most education today falls far short of this goal. Susan Schaeffer Macaulay shows that it doesn't have to be this way. Education can be a wonderful, life-enriching, joyous experience. For the Children's Sake is a book about what education can be, based first on a Christian understanding of what it means to be human--to be a child, a parent, a teacher--and on the Christian meaning of life. At the same time, it is deeply practical; the ideas have been tried and proven true by Susan and her husband Ranald Macaulay in their own family and school experience. For the Children's Sake is a book that can help every parent and teacher awaken the young minds of their children and give them a new richness, stability, and joy for living.
For the Children's Sake: Foundations of Education for Home and School is 166 pages long.

Should be called “all about Charlotteâ€
Derived From Web , Jan 21, 2020
The author offers some solid insights into home education based on her experiences. The book was later dissolved into a collection of quotations and summations of Charlotte Mason's original teachings. Structurally, some of the chapters are lengthy and literally contain pages of quoted material with very little original thought by the author. To get the gist of the amazing woman's approach to education.

Homeschool Mama Must-Read
Derived From Web , Nov 9, 2018
Home schooling is a must read for all mommas trying to find their groove in the world of home education. It was so nice to affirm my feelings and thoughts, Beckham said. There were a few instances where the author and i hold different viewpoints, but it doesn't take away from the overall message of this book.

Not for me
Derived From Web , Oct 15, 2018
Even though I love Charlotte Mason, I can't get through the book. The author of this book gives poor Biblical advice. The second volume is too long and needs to be broken up. She spoke more of her opinions than I would ever agree with, Bruno said.

I've read the entire book, and I'm in love. I think every parent needs to read this multiple times throughout their children's lives. It would be a great read for new parents so they will be better equipped to take care of all the children that come into their lives.
