Touching and powerful.Reid masterfully grabs hold of the heartstrings and doesn't let go. A stunning first novel. --Publishers Weekly (starred review) Have you ever heard of supernovas? I like to think you and Ben were like that . . . in that short time, you had more passion than some people have in a lifetime. Elsie Porter is an average twentysomething and yet what happens to her is anything but ordinary. On a rainy New Year's Day, she heads out to pick up a pizza for one. Ben cannot even wait twenty-four hours before asking to see her again. Within weeks, the two are head over heels in love. By May, they've eloped. Only nine days later, Ben is out riding his bike when he is hit by a truck and killed on impact. Elsie hears the sirens outside her apartment, but by the time she gets downstairs, he has already been whisked off to the emergency room. At the hospital, she must face Susan, the mother-in-law she has never met--and who doesn't even know Elsie exists. I enjoyed this book, but it was a bit drawn out, I got it at a sale price, so was happy enough. Not worth the full price.

I loved this book ''. It is good, but it is also a sad story that has kept me hooked until the end. I ordered it so much that I just liked the other two books by this author!

Simply amazing

An extraordinary book that takes you through a process in which the protagonist is never going to overcome little by little, through character actions, strength and a sense of resilience over what could be described as one of the most difficult moments in one's life. Amazingly written by.

A Beautiful Journey of Love, Grief and Life. A Must-Read for All.
Derived From Web , May 26, 2022
This book reminds you of it. Some couples do not get the rest of their lives wrapped up in each other's love. Some couples don 't even get a breath, some get only a few months. Some couples don 't get to love at all. This book and this couple's love is a reminder that love does not stop for death. Love lives in memories, in hearts and in the minds. Taylor Jenkins Reid unravels this beautiful story not only of love, but also of self-discovery, as Elise learns to live life after the love of hers has been taken from her. It is beautiful, heart-breaking, but freeing as you watch Elise make strides to live life without Ben. I can not count how many times I have crushed this book to my heart. I cried big fat ugly tears as they rushed down my face.

The feels. All the heart and star ratings for this one
Derived From Web , Jul 1, 2021
I cried completely blind entering this book within the first 3% of the book. That is how you know it's a winner when you're already bawling and the story has literally begun, the writing is just so good and captures you. With the two time lines, it is really hard not to fall in love with their love for each other. I really liked this read, as a wife and as a mother to sons, this hits deep.

Not For Me
Derived From Web , Jun 25, 2021
I have enjoyed reading those other books by hers that I have seen, but not this one. Eventually, I skimmed many of the past chapters, read the story, then went back and skimmed some. It would have benefited the book to have been more linear, especially because it changes at the end. It feels too bad that this is so mangled together. A bad editorial choice that sets the author for a poor habit.

The story of love in 6 months
Derived From Web , Jun 23, 2021
This is the story of Ben and Elsie that knew they were perfect together from the beginning. But fate took them forever. This book is about trying to move from grief to I am Ok, also about decisions that are made without thinking about the consequences that can 't be fixed. A very good friend of mine, who is a widow, told her one day that she hated when anyone told her that. Now I ask you just how are you doing? Because I don 't know where the best place is.

Not her best

I love most of her books, this one didn 't do it for me, I think the internal dialogue of Elise felt very unnatural. The story fell flat for me, but had promise.
