Left with unpredictable options to answer the question is left since most intelligent people don't find many books that aren 't unintelligent. That is, the plot of the entire story is more an exploration of an idea. Something more to make you entertain yourself than to simply think. I found very few stories that weren 't predictable at some level. This book is not predictable except that you know that everything will turn out alright because of the tone of the book. At the same time, it is not full of surprises because the overall point of it is never really lost. The pace would be quicker if Asimov did not trash his rules and the history of certain things, but I kind of like it. There are very few characters that are developed for good reason, but those that do are very dynamic, clear and makes sense considering their place in the story. This book is part of a very long and very good science - fiction - epic.

Very much related now to the demise of the second culture, but math remains unclear, as is the purpose of the human foundation.

Hard to go erroneous with a bookk by Asimov. I read the series for the first time when I was a young teenager. In the meantime, they haven 't lost a thing!

Great leading to Foundation
Derived From Web , Jan 9, 2022
This first precursor to the book, Foundation, is in scope breathtaking to the beginning of psycohistory and the formation of both the immediate and second foundations. The characters are well defined, the plot is presented flawlessly. My advice was to read them in chronological order. Go to bookseriesinorder. com to get both the publication and the chronological order.

A lively look at Hari Seldon’s later years.
Derived From Web , Dec 8, 2021
Although not as tightly packaged as the first three of the series, I really enjoyed Forward the Foundation, as it continues to tie so many origin stories and ties us all the more poignant as this was published after Asimov's death, and he wrote it with the knowledge of his own mortality. High is a pleasant and thought-provoking read.

Story is amazing, narration is atrocious.
Derived From Web , Jul 29, 2021
I started with the audio book of the foundation. Scott Brick is narrated by John Ross. Then Scott found out the real reading order, so went to Prelude, which is also by Ray. He sounds literally like one of those computer - generated review videos. He mispronounces names, some basic words and is just really difficult to listen to. I think I would have been almost as disappointed if I had not heard Brick's performances before.
