Tozer is always potent

Even when he isn 't electric, Tozer seems to never be less than excellent. There are moments when I had to stop reading the daily entry to ponder and pray, which is consistent with my experience with his work. But even when the moments were not as shockingly valuable, there wasn 't a day that wasn 't profound. Recommended as a companion through Lent or any 40-day refocus on the work of Jesus and the costexpectation of Christianity.

This Devotional will make you think!
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2019
With his insightful writing, Tozer hits you in the nose. In His full humanity, Jesus suffered everything we suffer, felt every pain, every high, every low, and dealt with every temptation we have ever experienced. Today as His disciples, he asks us to pick up our cross, which does not come close to His and follow, but we don 't, because we want the blessings and rosie, easy life. If we truly believe and walk in the footsteps of the masters, we will suffer, but nothing comparable to what our Savior did. If we are truly Christians, we should and need to pick up our cross and walk in the footsteps of the Master without complaining and whining. Tozer shows us what it is to be a true disciple and walk in Jesus's footsteps by picking up our cross and living as the master commands.

Powerful and Challenging Devotion
Derived From Web , Apr 4, 2018
This proved to be one of the most rewarding spiritual devotionals I have used, and I have used dozens over the last 20 years. I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone who is truly seeking to deepen their walk with Christ, to challenge their notions of what it means to confess and follow Jesus daily, and also to set aside shallow discipleship. As always, Tozer delivers. You don 't have to wait until Lent to be blessed by this compilation.

Just ok
Derived From Web , Apr 4, 2018
If I had not committed to reading it for 40 days, I would not have finished. I have read Tozer before and enjoyed what he has to say, but this one didn 't keep my interest, there were good portions, just not every day.

At his finest, Tozer is! All of the devotionals are for Lent. I personally would have preferred longer devotionals, but a great book for Lent or at any time of the year.
