Book Overview

This Description may be from another edition of this product.

Sixteen-year-old Blake has always been the responsible one in his dysfunctional family -- the one who drives safely, gets good grades, and looks after his wild younger brother, Quinn. Quinn is his brother's opposite -- a thrill-seeker who's always chasing the next scary rush, no matter what the cost. But Quinn and Blake are in for the surprise of their lives when they're thrust into the world of a bizarre phantom carnival -- and their souls are the price of admission.

In order to save his brother, and himself, Blake must survive seven different carnival rides before dawn. Seven rides.it sounds easy. But each ride is full of unexpected dangers, because each ride is a reflection of one of Blake's deepest fears. And the last ride is the worst one of all. Because that's the one that confronts Blake with a terrifying secret from his past -- a secret he's been running from for years.

Full of roller-coaster twists and turns, Full Tilt is an Orpheus-like adventure into one boy's psyche.

AMAZING! Definitely not just for kids.
I can see that people say this is more for younger readers, but coming from a teenage bookworm, I loved it absolutely! I read this more than once, and I rarely do this with other books. The reason why I like Full Tilt so much is because it is just so captivating. You don 't even feel like you are reading a children's book. The whole concept of riding on rides is just... wow. To say the least, awesome. Neal Shusterman also throws in some vivid imagery that takes you into another world entirely. Cassandra's specific theme-park world, to be more twisted. Overall, an amazing journey that I recommend to readers of all ages!

   It's okay.
I love this author ''. After being blown away by Neal, I slowly went through Scythe's backlist. I could tell you that it was an earlier story, even if I did not know it. The story is a little too predictable. In the end, I am glad that I didn 't read this first. Otherwise, I probably wouldn 't have continued the many other fabulous books by Neal Shusterman.

   Good, simple horror book
It is a little lacking in storyexplanation for the events, but feels an overall good book!

   Careless Shipping/Packaging
One of my favorite books from my youth and I was excited to gift a copy to my younger brother but the cover arrived ripped.

Actually as good as I was hoping it sounded!
Most books are a fast and wild burn, but with this book it was as slow as the rides in the story. I enjoyed it wholeheartedly ''. It was the kind of scenario I could actually see myself in, so that it made it even better. I also loved how the learning moments were not always so obvious, but my favorite was the mirrors with the two characters at the end of the ride. I got it right on the feels. And another thing I was not expecting was that this was also a bit of a really inspirational and self-help book in a really really kind of way. Tons of introspection with characters ends up with you thinking about your own issues, challenges, etc. that are still holding you back with the motivation to do something about it by the time you finish reading the book.
