My 7.5 year old son loves this book!
I will surely be buying the rest of the series now. And the condition was as listed.
Great book for 6 year old
Before we went to school, I wanted to get a few starter chapter books for my 6-year-old son for summer reading. He is really into video games, so I thought he might like this one, Mr. G. Ridgeway said. Within minutes of receiving the DVD, he sat down and read the entire thing. He likes to read, but not terribly into it, so I was delighted when he told me he could read on his own. Normally I would go to the library for the rest of the series, but I can see him reading these over and over, so I think I might just invest in the others, he said. Really cute story and he was excited to talk about what happened in the book, too. 0 1462212 This is really cute story and he was excited to talk about what happened in the book, too. That was huge, Coach said.
Great for 6.5 year old, he can’t put it down!
A great series, said Dr. Brian Stokes Mitchell, director of NASA's Ames Research Center in California. No binding issues, delegates said. It can be read in any other format judging by our little one who readily reads book 3, followed by book 1 a week later. Well, first of all, did you know that your kid or family doesn't play video games? It's great to keep a kid away from the screen, Mr. D'Antonio said. There are five words in book 1 that our 6 year old misread, but no issues with that.
Speech bubbles and trying again and again!
There are several reasons for this. I'm a big fan of the format. It's a nice blend of a story book and a graphic novel, Raymond said. The bubbles help show who is talking in the book. This story shows that the character was not only failing time and again, but also manipulating the audience. It's just that they keep trying until they get it." I don't see any issues with the bindings yet, said Dr. Steve Anderson, director of Microsoft's new enterprise development unit. This book is worth a read.
Good beginner reader high interest book!
It's great to see the show's popularity, said Jennette Tamayo, the mother of 7-year-old twins. Turner seems to be a picky reader, but the book has to be super interesting to him. He loves Minecraft and playing video games so I thought this series might catch his interest, it sure did! It seems to be the right level for him as a 1st grader, but he did read the book in just a few hours, so maybe just a little too easy, Mrs. Dhaliwal said. He loved the book so much we ended up ordering the whole series and he's already rereading them! I recommend this book to anyone who is into video games.
Great for My Six Year Old
My son has all but begged for a Shopkins set since seeing the first episode of the Magic Treehouse series. He reads this book very quickly, then reads it a couple more times in the past month. Like the pictures, he really likes the story. Overall, I'm really glad we got this book, Sebastian said.
   Great chapter book transition!
This review is being written because I was hesitant to buy the book because of the negative reviews. It was a no brainer, and I went ahead and bought it, said the writer of the book. Also, my 7 year old, first grade, video game playing, super hero boy! It is the first chapter book he has read and he sat down and read it out loud in one sitting, and his five year old brothers sat and listened to him the whole time. After he finished reading it he started the book all over again, that is how much he loved it. It's the perfect transition to chapter books, a nice length, great pictures, with a theme that my little gamer loved. If someone says they don't like reading they just haven't found the right book yet, I think this book really turned that page for my son. This is a great book.
   Book Fell Apart Immediately
The story is what it is, he enjoys it and it encourages him to read, Mrs. Dhaliwal said. But when we opened the book, pages were falling out. At first, I taped them back together, because I wanted to make sure they were still there when I shot the video. Things started to fall apart as we read. The second part of the contract says the binding was "not properly glued or otherwise kept in place." It is frustrating to have a new book and have it fall apart so quickly. I'd personally go to a book store and get a good look at the bindings before purchasing the next in the series.
   A bona-fide worldwide hit
Young readers, would you rather play video games than read? Do you have a book you're looking for? Not only does SUPER RABBIT BOY run libraries in Britain and the US, but he also visits schools and nurseries. With a video game-driven storyline, full-color illustrations, and appropriate spacing between pages, this book never sat on our library shelves for more than a day. Numerous copies have been purchased and given as well as gifts. The series brings kids the enjoyment of reading a book chapter by chapter and they into an appealing series to boot. Young readers will find this book highly recommended.
Great Book for Capturing Video Game Loving Kids, Terrible Glue
Press Start is a great book for those that love video games. There are game references peppered throughout that every little kid will recognize and love. There are a few in-jokes for those of us that grew up on video games ourselves. Particularly nice is the fact that the book avoids the standard potty humor plot devices that seemingly every 'new' beginner reader book wants to use today. Despite all of the negative reviews associated with the book, Scholastic says Mr Hughes' little brother loved listening to the story also. The second time around, the book's bindings pulled apart. Even if they get through it several times, I cringe to think of what it will look like when my kids get through it again. If it wasn't for that quibble, this book would get five stars.
