Book Overview

This Description may be from another edition of this product.

George Muller stared at the beggar girl. She was no older than five and was piggybacking her little brother. Her mother had died in the cholera epidemic sweeping England. Her father had never returned from the mines. Standing in the muddy street, this little girl gave a face to Bristol's countless orphans.

With scarcely enough food or money for his own family, George Muller opened his heart and home. Sustained by God's provision, the Muller house Breakfast Club of thirty orphans grew to five large houses that ultimately over ten thousand children would call home. George Muller trusted God with a depth rarely seen. His faith and generosity set a standard for Christians of all generations.

   Great read for our homeschool
A faith-filled beginner looks at the life of a great man. I am reading this to my 7 year old boy, 5 year old girl and 3 year old girl as part of our homeschool. It is also bouncing my faith as well. If I had some more free time, I would like to read a grown up version of his life for myself, hopefully my children will want to do the same when they are older.

   Good story, kid friendly
I'm sure there is a lot of true and intact freedom taken in there with the conversations the characters had, but the artistic story is artistic and timeless. Good lessons shared and learned with the kids!

   God came through
This may have been the children's version, as some have told me, but it was wonderful. I love to hear how these powerful but humble men served God in their lives. To build orphanages with nothing but faith and prayer to rely on is a testimony for every life, no matter how little you think you have financially or personally to give. Here God really filled the gap.

   Great read for pre-teen!
This series of the books is great for ages 9-13. I even read one to see how easy they are to read. For a child of this age, very easy to read. If needed, will buy more of these.

George Muller; The Guardian of Bristol's Orphans
I read it twice. It is not too long, but it covers George Muller's work well.

Great adventure series- my boys love it!
I love reading this series to my 1st and 2nd grader before going to bed every night. It's written like an adventure story and they always ask me to read more! So far we read John Wesley, George Muller, Gladys Aylward and Corrie Ten Boom.

   LOVE this book
This book has been one of my favorites for years, and I recently purchased and read it again. If you are a person who has a heart for adoption, this book is totally for you! It is a biography, but it is so excellent and written in an amusing style that keeps you engaged with George's story. Great for kids - I read it first when I was 9 years old, but now it is almost 20 years later and I still love it!
