Not the book for me
Derived From Web , May 20, 2022
I liked the book like this on Social Security, but now that I need to get information on Medicare-this had just too many stories for me to wade through. If you like examples, you would like this book. I wanted to-the-point guidance and facts more. Not that this does not find them, it was just too hard for me to have it among the verbiage. I haven 't found a book I really like on Medicare, but I have gotten more information from Medicare for Dummies. That and reading the Medicare website just for fun. Let's face it, our government would be hard pressed to find a system that is more convoluted and difficult to understand and work with. One thing I keep finding more and more evidence is that if something is a money maker for Big Pharma-it is covered. If it is a healthier version--it isn 't.

Once you sort out the distracting stories the answers are there.
Derived From Web , Mar 5, 2019
When you sign up for Medicare, you are going to find an insurance agent. The main point is to not delay the start up. This book, however, could have been 12 or less of length. Once you find the example stories, the information you are looking for are there.

Good Information - But not well organized and too preachy
Derived From Web , Apr 28, 2018
And I would recommend alone for this reason. But the author writes an anecdotal story after another, when I would have the information in a well organized way. Many fear factor about getting it wrong and examples of those who have made serious mistakes due to ignorance of the many little known Medicare rules. But how about a concise list of rules, rather than learning from these stories of mistakes? Then there is the never-ending discussion of the need for government to do more. But little discussion about how or who would pay for this benefit. The author should reflect on the fact that medicare is a very good mess for retirees brought to us by government, and maybe having the government do more is not a difficult and convoluted solution. Of course, he would not profit from the mess by writing a book and even more mess could require another book.

Informative but politically correct.
Derived From Web , Dec 18, 2017
One of the hardest choices in life is retirement and Medicare. There you go with marriage and job selection right up there. This is a good read and informative, however the author does everything he can to keep a recommendation. I would prefer that he led his readers by explaining the situations in which certain choices were the best.
