   Super for learning Electronics
The Forrest Mims books are really nice for learning electronics or just refreshing your knowledge, such as I am.

   Great reference
I received this book as a senior and am still using it as a quick reference as a sophomore. I would describe a short summary of everything electronic.

Have simple and clear drawings by Mims'books - several other drawings and test. Great for beginners and a refresher for an old engineer.

Still The Best Beginners Guide To Understanding Basic Electricity!!
This book has been published for decades and is still one of the absolute best for basic understanding of entry-level electricity. The uniqueness of its style and the humor of Mims makes this a fantastic guide for teaching beauty and dangers of electricity to a new student of any age. Using basic items that can be purchased at any general outlet, you will learn about every aspect of electricity and see it work in the simplest of forms. It is very well explained and done in a way that even younger children can grasp the concepts.

   Excellent book!
I bought this book so that I could begin my project to construct a stereo amplifier and a set of speakers. After reading this book, I am now able to discern the meaning of the charts in my book about amp construction. Was a great read, with plenty of illustrations!

   Book Review
Ok so I start my search and study in Electronics and its subject. This book is illustrated and notes in a notebook format. It seems like the way it is presented will provide the basics and maybe more. Compleat of drawings and two tables, at the beginning and at the end of the book to reference terms along with corresponding drawing. As you look at the texts, you read the parts for association. I feel it is a good method to improve and memorize material. I highly recommend this book if you are a beginner, like me.

   Made me love NEETS more
I'm not going to get rid of it, but as I was reading it, I thought NEETS was so much better at explaining things, NEETS is better written, NEETS is all around superior. I have issues with some of his diagrams, and there was one that was flat out wrong. I started enjoying it and was eager to read it, but the more I read, the more I had to stop. If you know absolutely nothing, it is probably ok. I could learn and try the projects, but I cannot recommend this to someone who wants to skip electronics.

I want to love this book... but I can't
I still have my Radio Shack Forrest Mims Engineer mini-notebooks from the 80s. From page 80 is more of what I had hoped for with logic gates in a more standard schematic diagram, data tables for their logic and a quick description. All is not lost though. As long as there is even one page useful in Mims'work, I will hold on to it in my ever expanding reference books.
