Book Overview

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELER - Giada De Laurentiis lavishly explores her food roots and the lifestyle traditions that define la bella vita, with the contemporary California twist that has made her America's most beloved Italian chef.

For Giada, a good meal is more than just delicious food--it's taking pleasure in cooking for those you love, and slowing down to embrace every moment spent at the table. In Giada's Italy, she returns to her native Rome to reconnect with the flavors that have inspired the way she cooks and shares what it means to live la dolce vita.

Here she shares recipes for authentic Italian dishes as her family has prepared them for years, updated with her signature flavors. Her Bruschetta with Burrata and Kale Salsa Verde is a perfect light dinner or lunch, and Grilled Swordfish with Candied Lemon Salad can be prepared in minutes for a quick weeknight meal. Sartu di Riso is a showstopping entr e best made with help from the family, and because no meal is complete without something sweet, Giada's Italian-inflected desserts like Pound Cake with Limoncello Zabaglione and Chianti Affogato will keep everyone at the table just a little bit longer.

Filled with stunning photography taken in and around Rome, intimate family shots and stories, and more recipes than ever before, Giada's Italy will make you fall in love with Italian cooking all over again.

   More food photos, please!
The recipes I tried have been good... I especially love the Cacio e Pepe with Pancetta and Arugula! However, I really wish there were more photos of the completed dishes. I write my cookbooks for inspiration, and that comes from seeing a picture. Odds by me making a dish with no photo... not good.

Not a good cooking book just pictures of her very disappointed
Idk who placed 5 stars, but this cooking book it's just a bunch of pictures of her it's barely anything about cooking. The book was not a true cookery book very disappointed.

Less giada, more food recipe photos
My kids and I love learning how to cook from Giada's shows, so we're fans. This is my first Giada cookbook and I find it just a bit annoying. There are enough recipes that sound delightful and easy enough to make that I might leave it go that this book is like a model book for Giada and Jade. It would have been a better idea to delete some of their photos in place of finished photos of the finished recipe. There are a few too many recipes without being photo accompaniment ; I think a quick count is 30. Photos help me make a quick decision about whether I should try a recipe or skip one. First, we eat with our eyes.

   Disappointed
The book is interesting to look at and some very lovely recipes. The recipes I have made, however, are bland and do not turn out the way they should. I'm back to the cookbook of the Barefoot Contessa. Always true to that description.

   Giada. Win. Win.
Giada I love. I followed her for years. I own all her books'videos, this book does not disappoint. Photography is fresh & the recipes are lovely & easy to follow. I am not understanding the hate directed at Giada, especially from women. She has breasts, she's rich, she's famous. She is also beautiful and articulate.
