I bought this mainly for our 8 year old, but found it pretty simple and light ''. Perfect place to start the off conversation for God's design in gender. I would say that this is the perfect way to start reading at ages 5. I believe our 8-year-old is ready for the nest step, but wasn 't quite sure The Story of Me '' series was the right one yet. This was a continuing step in, what we hope is a gentle conversation.

Helps explain tough subject

Our school introduced some issues that we are not comfortable with our 2nd grade daughter learning, but I needed to explain gender from a godly and scientific perspective that is actually understandable for young children. This did the job well. There is a lot of focus on the fall with Adam and Eve - almost too much because I thought it got away a bit, but ultimately it was a great resource for us at a desperate time. Also, the last two pages of the book, which seemed more geared towards parents, were a great help as well, and we also went through much of this information with our daughter. It is sad that we need to have these discussions, but I am so grateful for a resource like this to help parents!

Focuses too much on gender transition, not God’s purpose for both men & women.

I liked that it taught gender and sex from a Christian perspective, but I wish it had focused less on gender transition isn t real '' and more on what makes boys and girls different and what both genders are for. I would have loved to see this book discuss why God has made both males and females, and how they are both wonderful, but have different roles and strengths.

This book is so sound biblically and explains the gift of gender in a clear way and in a respectful way. It also talks about the creation and fall of the man and then Jesus'birth and our salvation in Him through faith.

Mr. Machowski has been truly a gift to have the ability to write about such an important and sensitive topic. allowing parents such as myself to have a tangible tool for discussing with their child God's gift of gender. I also appreciate how the gospel is delicately interwoven into this book. Like with his other resources, pointing it all to Jesus. There aren 't many books such as this one that children will be able to glean from, and I am grateful to have it now as part of our library to use in ongoing discussions. Mr. Machowski, thank you for sharing your gifts and teaching me to teach my daughter about Christ and His gifts.
