Disappointed....

On my search for wisdom, I found myself seeking the journey of Salomon Psalms, Proverbs, Eclesiastes, and other references. I began reading and I agreed with most things, some others I didn't. The horse is made ready for the day of battle but victory rests with the Lord, I may not be a pastor yet my understanding is we are referring to faith and how you should trust him with your plan for success, regardless of those who may be planning against it. He goes on a rant against technology and overconfidence in the power of technology from which he never recovered. My doubts proved right, there were messages in this book which were not commonsensical and that's why I dropped it.

Seek God and gain wisdom
Derived From Web , Dec 31, 2020
He added that isdom is only a by-product of something more than wisdom -- to see God. He spoke of a time when "aiming to knowing God" got him thrown into the deep end of the universe. Aim high, but you get neither. Tim and Kathy Keller, the authors of this excellent devotional, give us the reason why studying Proverbs benefits us. These short, easily digestible devotionals take us through the wisdom of Solomon to help us see how wisdom is not just something learned but something that influences and fuels our daily lives.

Insightful with expansive meanings
Derived From Web , Feb 1, 2019
Each day has only one small page of two or three paragraphs, but if you think that means it's just a quick light read you couldn't be more wrong. Yes, it uses Proverbs as the basis, but other verses are used to reinforce, contrast or expand upon the original. The treatment is often very illuminating with insights way beyond the trivial. The approach is very personal, not academic, so this is not a book intended to educate you about the wisdom in Proverbs but rather to use the wisdom in Proverbs for spiritual growth in a very real down to earth way. Great customer service, said Paul. I never can read one line of a book in a day. There is so much to ponder and give serious thought to, Mrs Hughes said. Highly recommend.

A year of wisdom insight, with a surprise ending...

This book is invaluable in gaining new perspectives and understanding the world around us, he said. The book relies on the vast knowledge and insight of the authors. I've always enjoyed the number of resources quoted, along with their diversity. Second, I highly recommend that anyone interested in this book should read it. The polier from the last day talks about the deal. Yes, wisdom is only a product of something greater than reason—to see God, Lord. Chances are, you'll get some good advice along the way. Aim high, but you get neither. It's great to see it, Bruno. I think it took me a long time to get here, Mr. Dhaliwal said. I'm very pleased with the results, Bruno told the judge. O Lord, we thank you for this season of grace.

I've also fallen in love with Timothy Keller's Songs of Jesus. I wanted this devotional to be read every night. In my opinion, Mr. Keller's book is excellent - very thought provoking, a modern take on the Brontes. The Harrisons are legendary for their philanthropy, and for the Lewis family, it's all about money.

Timeless Wisdom
Derived From Web , Nov 9, 2017
Traditionalists view it as a sign of the surface evangelical establishment. These are, in many ways, deeply penetrating daily expositions on real world matters that deeply probe into questions of values, moral behavior, the meaning of human life and right conduct. Must be the world's greatest writer of truth, Alibomin said. It's great to hear from Mr. Kennedy again, could not recommend more highly.
