The parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. 1 Corinthians 12:23 When people deal with color, class or culture in a negative way, that's racism. But the answer is not to ignore these as if they don't matter. Instead, we can look at color, class and culture in a positive way. That's gracism. Pastor David Anderson responds to prejudice and injustice with the principle of gracism: radical inclusion for the marginalized and excluded. Building on the apostle Paul's exhortations in 1 Corinthians 12 to honor the weaker member, Anderson presents a biblical model for showing special grace to others on the basis of ethnicity, class or other social distinction. He offers seven sayings of the gracist with practical examples for building bridges and including others. A Christian alternative to secular models of affirmative action or colorblindness, gracism is an opportunity to extend God's grace to people of all backgrounds. Now in paper

   A Christian Multiculturalism
Pastor David Anderson builds a balanced, practical, and eminent Christian approach to multiculturalism. He avoids the extremes of color blindness and affirmative action. Skillfully, he describes the biblical injunction to care for the marginalized. Gracism is a must-read for anyone who longs to create bridges leading to racial healing, harmony and reconciliation. Bob Kellemen, Ph.D., is the author of Beyond the Suffering Encountering the Legacy of African American Soul Care and Spiritual Direction, Soul Physicians A theology of Soul Care and Spiritual Direction, and Spiritual Friends A Methodology of Soul Care and Healing Direction.

   Stop and Ponder
This book was recommended by a pastor as the result of a spirited online FB debate between friends on President Obama and racism in America and whether or not attitudes were getting better or worse and would we ever see an end to it all. His suggestion was that we get this book by giving special attention to the art of inclusion. It caused us all to stop hollering and ponder for a bit and to pause the subject. I have not yet finished reading it, but I like the message and was delighted to find the printed pages were in large print.

Best book I’ve read on Race
Rarely give a book 5 stars, but this one has definitely earned it. I found this to be the best book I have ever read on race relations. The author comes at this from a biblical perspective and is not afraid to acknowledge the concerns that the majority of the population has with current messaging on race. I would recommend that everyone read this book absolutely. As a white male, I walked away from reading this with a new vision of how to live in grace with all my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Teaching you how to extend God’s Grace to others in practical ways.
Dr. Anderson explained how we can see others through God's eyes, giving them grace where we may see differences. Loving others, as God loves us, is the way to build bridges over invisible barriers and helps us treat others as brothers and sisters. Excellent reading to adjust your mindset to God's views. Recommended highly!

   Simply lay out the truth
The best thing about Anderson's books is that he takes a passage, a story and tells you how rich and profound this passage can be, as it relates to racial spirit filled with humane reconciliation. It is not rocket science, but it is deeply personal and challenging.

Grace is the answer for racism!
I have read a number of books on racism. Some have been very difficult to read Piling on the guilt and offering no solutions. This book is a book with the solution-stress Gracism. A must read book.
