Not for beginnera
Derived From Web , Aug 28, 2021
I have been out of college for about 2 years and for 6 years out of high school. Fortunately, I got all my math classes completed in high school. So, studying the quantitative is almost relearning, since I don 't remember things from 7 years ago that I never used. I am usually able to catch things quickly, but not with this book. It does not go into great detail when explaining how to solve practice problems, nor does it give great examples throughout the chapter before the post-chapter test. This book may be great for people who are still fairly fresh minded with algebrageometry, but if you are like me, save your money and get something else because this book has wasted my time completely.

Overall great, but I hate the Kindle edition
Derived From Web , Nov 4, 2020
This review is primarily for the Kindle edition of the book. I like the tips and tricks and practice questions provided by the book, but there are random black squares in the kindle edition that make some of the problems content completely unreadable. I also wish that some of the explanations were clearer. The explanation sometimes goes from a b & c to z and I personally like to see more context. Great resource for studying overall.

Money trap
Derived From Web , Dec 23, 2019
This product is not by itself sufficient for studying for the GRE. They show and explain around half of the material, but expect you to enroll in more expensive online material to better round your understanding of lessons. Compare this to Kaplan's book, which explains more and comes with free online resources to prepare for the GRE. I feel misled by the Magoosh advertising. Even if all you use is the book, the book by Kaplan has far more in depth explanation of material and free online resources.

Best summarized guide to the GRE
Derived From Web , Jul 13, 2018
Magoosh has created a complete guide to the GRE using a point-by-point '' approach where an overview of each section of the exam is given. If you are shooting for a high 160 score, I would recommend using this book with the Manhattan Guide books. And plus, I have to mention how the writing is in the book with very friendly language and makes you feel like a long-time friend who is studying for the exam!

Not perfect, but easy to read and definitely helpful.
Derived From Web , Mar 30, 2018
I went to college for 18 years, and I actually went to the art school. I purchased this book and read most of it in the three days before I took the GRE. While it does not cover everything on the exam, it is pretty comprehensive and is written in a way that is very engaging and easy to pass through. Also their free vocabulary - flashcard app is very helpful and. One important note is that sometimes their sample questions aren 't as clear as they could be, but then there were some questions on the actual GRE that i felt this way too. I also think that math would be useful if math is not your strong suit, a little more explanation of some of the math sections would be helpful. If I had a full month to use this book, I took 10 pages a day, did the practice tests and used the Vocab app daily, I would have done even better. But as it was, three days with this book has still raised my score unquestionably. Magoosh thanks.

Great alternative for GRE review
Derived From Web , Dec 27, 2017
The book was a very simple and easy to read review. I learned great lessons and questions, enabling me to recall topics that I learned years ago. I used it to get into a Maters program and scored very highly using it as my review source. For your GRE review, I recommend Magoosh.

Missing pages?

This book has had a lot of great information, but information and practice questions don t always go together. I am also missing a huge chunk of pages. Doesn 't look like any pages are torn out, they are just missing...

I highly recommend the Magoosh suite of products for GRE prep
Derived From Web , Mar 3, 2017
I have highly recommended the Magoosh suite of products for GRE prep. While I can not attest to this book as a single tool, it is certainly an incredibly helpful and complementary preparation tool. If you prefer to study by reading rather than watching the online educational videos, this book will suffice as your GRE preparation. If you ever feel you need more help, the online products of Magoosh would supplement this book well. I would recommend purchasing the book to begin casually studying a few months before your test date and then adding a 1 or 3-month access plan to the online Magoosh products so that you can also prepare for the test itself. In all your studies, good luck!
