Encourages thinking for yourself

It was my granddaughter who was reading this and I decided to see if I thought it was appropriate for her and another granddaughter. Zilkha conceded that the ending was "thought provoking." It's frightening for some children that young, Mr. Dhaliwal said.

Wonderful book!
Derived From Web , Jun 30, 2021
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read. I am a middle school teacher and I noticed this book was flying off the shelves at our Scholastic book fair, so I had to see what the buzz was about. His book "Alan Gratz: The Loneliness of a New Age Writer" was also a New York Times bestseller. This book was a great way for students to get connected with 911, especially as my students were not even born when the event happened, Ms. O'Neill said.

Gripping historical fiction
Derived From Web , Jun 6, 2021
In "The Fall," novelist Richard Gratz tells the story of a young man who falls in love with a young woman. I have a long fan of his novels, but this one, after experiencing this event as an 11th grader, was very emotional. This book is necessary and important, Raymond said. It's a must read!

A hit with my son
Derived From Web , Apr 10, 2021
My son, who attends school in the San Joaquin Valley, was introduced to this book in class as recommended reading for book club. He didn't join book club, but I put this in his Easter basket. He read the entire book in two days, he couldn't put it down! Usually he starts a book and I find it in his room with a bookmark on page 10 a month later, so this I huge that he was that engaged, Mrs Clinton said. He's actually asked for more from Alan Gratz as he enjoyed his storytelling, he said.

It brought back a lot of the fear and anxiety of that time. 0 1462228 3622163 It brought back a lot of the fear and anxiety of that time. However, as I read and got to know the characters, I couldn't put it down. It's well written, suspenseful and done in a way that leaves you wanting more and more. If you are looking for a book for middle school students, I highly recommend it.

Gripping historical fiction & great conversation starter
Derived From Web , Feb 4, 2021
My son has read several of his books. The book arrived as a surprise on the release date and took him less than 24 hours to finish. My son is all boy and would typically rather play outside all day than sit quietly and read for extended periods. After hearing he was done with the book, i asked him how it was done. He then took at least 15 minutes to explain in great detail all that happened in the book. We went to youtube and watched some of the footage from 911, Mr. Ridgeway said. A great conversation starter, he said. Thanks for the work you do, Alan.
