Guadalupe: First Words-Primeras Palabras: First Words - Primeras Palabras
Book Overview
A Lil' LIbros Bilingual Picture Book
Inspired by Our Lady of Guadalupe, this book will introduce children to her story through pictures and their first English and Spanish words. Travel back to the 15th century when the Virgin of Guadalupe once appeared before Juan Diego. Your child will learn first words such as sandalias (sandals), luz (light), and jardin (garden).
Unable to find bilingual first concept books she could enjoy reading to her baby, Patty Rodriguez came up with the idea behind Lil' Libros. Patty and her work have been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Rolling Stone, CN Latino, Latina Magazine, Cosmopolitan, People En Espanol, Cosmo Latina, and American Latino TV, to name a few. She is currently Sr. Producer for On Air With Ryan Seacrest-iHeartMedia, jewelry designer for MALA by Patty Rodriguez, and creator of Manolos And Tacos.
Ariana Stein, a graduate from California State University, Dominguez Hills, has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Ariana spent the first eight years of her professional career in the corporate world. Her life changed with the birth of her baby boy. She immediately realized that bilingualism played a very important role in his future, as well as the future of other children.

Good book just bent during delivery...
Derived From Web , Jan 13, 2021
I love this book in general, the images are cute and the simple English spanish words are great for young children. I am gifting it to my niece of one year old. The only thing wrong with it was that it was kind of awkwardly bent making the opening of the sides slightly curved.

Not worth it.

I wish it would have a longer story, rather than just one word per page. Only the front cover kept it because of the only picture.

my niece LOVED this book
Derived From Web , Feb 14, 2020
The BEST books for Spanish English are published. My niece loved it, she loves reading and holding her book, and she loves the pictures. She is really doing well now with Spanish, so I would highly recommend to anyone trying to convert their children into dual language.

Great pictures, not so great content
Derived From Web , Jul 4, 2019
First, i want to say : I love lil libros. I have many for my children. That said... I support Latinx culture because I want my children to see people like them in books and know more about the impact that these cultures make. These books are, however, EXTREMELY simplistic. They do not connect a story, but a collection of words that may be associated with the character.

Cute book - little content

I like the art of this book, and the pages are thick. Nevertheless, I agree with other reviewers that it should contain more words and content.

Wonderful books!
Derived From Web , Nov 19, 2017
For children, love these books. I am gradually buying these to give them to my children when they finally have children! A little early as they are teenagers, but they are beautiful and well done books. The sturdy book aspect is hard and well made. I love the artwork and most of all the stories. I grew up with my mother telling me so many stories, so it is nice to be able to pass them on to my children.

These books are AMAZING! I read these with my very young cousins ...
Derived From Web , Feb 2, 2017
I read them with my very young cousins and students. I feel, however, that they are very short and there is no storyline. Just words in English and Spanish ''. I know they are for young children, but it would be nice to have some story to make them usefully interesting for a longer time. But the pictures are wonderful and they are still fantastic. This one in particular focuses on the most important words in the story of Virgin Mary.
