Book Overview

This Description may be from another edition of this product.

Essential reading for all Catholics Bestselling author, Scott Hahn illuminates a fresh and enlightening perspective on Mary, Mother of God, and her central importance in the Christian faith.

In The Lamb's Supper, Hahn explored the relationship between the Book of Revelation and the Roman Catholic Mass, deftly clarifying the most subtle of theological points with analogies and anecdotes from everyday life. In Hail, Holy Queen, he employs the same accessible, entertaining style to demonstrate Mary's essential role in Christianity's redemptive message.

Most Christians know that the life of Jesus is foreshadowed throughout the Old Testament. Through a close examination of the Bible, as well as the work of both Catholic and Protestant scholars and clergy, Hahn brings to light the small but significant details showing that just as Jesus is the New Adam, so Mary is the New Eve. He unveils the Marian mystery at the heart of the Book of Revelation and reveals how it is foretold in the very first pages of the Book of Genesis and in the story of King David's monarchy, which speaks of a privileged place for the mother of the king.

Building on these scriptural and historical foundations, Hahn presents a new look at the Marian doctrines: Her Immaculate Read More chevron_right

OK, in Revelation 12 it says by John that ...
In Revelation 12 it says by John that the saints, angels, martyrs 24 elders etc. worshiped God while sitting on His right he was the Ark of the Covenant, and that was the woman adorned with the moon, at his feet, and crowned with 12 stars. Thus, Mary is the Ark of the New Covenant. This book Hail, Holy Queen of God clearly shows why Mary is not only the Queen Mother of Jesus, but also the Church itself. This follows in line with the Davidic Covenant, where the King's mother sat at their side, not their wife, from David to Christ. How about that for you? That is why Catholics go to Jesus for intercession through Mary.

Most inviting look into praying the rosary!
When understood as the perfect prayer of love to our dear mother, as it leads us to meditate on the many scenes from Jesus'life, we hunger to pray the rosary more! Share your love for our blessed mother and become more aware of the treasures to be found in this glorious tradition of our Holy Catholic Church.

   scott never dissapoints
As usual, Scott Hahn makes the clear convictions and practices of Catholic faith and uses Scripture to refute all the arguments. Ordered to share with my Protestant friend who questioned the Catholic faith, but as it turns out, Scott had her convinced with The Supper Of The Lamb and Rome Sweet Home before she got to reading this one! I'll still read it for her to read as it is enlightening for converts, cradle Catholics and staunch Protestants alike.

Surprisingly, A New Perspective For Me.
The discussions presented were reasonable and are worthy of reflection and deeper thought and study. The author's passion is evident and his research is on point. Though it leaves little else to discover, it's richness leaves nothing else to explore.

   Exceptional!
Scott Hahn is quite famous for going from being an anti-Catholic Baptist to a passionate Catholic apologetic. As someone considering the conversion from Protestantism to Catholicism, several people recommended that I read his books. It is very apparent that Dr. Hahn is well versed in the Bible, and has offered so many points to justify the Marian doctrines of the Catholic Church. This is an excellent book, very persuasive.

Most helpful in catching my head up to what my heart already knew..
This book helped my mind catch up with what my heart almost a decade ago discovered to be true. I have a mother who loves me dearly and I share this same mother with Jesus and all my brothers and sisters in Christ, for we were spiritually born from the same womb. This has been a steady and unending source of comfort and joy. I lean often on my icon in my little prayer room and feel her embrace almost physically. I am not entirely certain that this book is the best way for me to introduce my heavenly mother to my friends who have remained Protestant, but it seems like a good start. I feel no need to introduce her, except to defend her and let her have her loving way with them just as she has with me.
