Not great as a book but makes a cute birthday card
Derived From Web , Dec 7, 2021
This isn't a birthday card in a book. I thought it was cute to give a small envelope with a monetary gift. There isn't much of a story in the book.

Seems More Like a Birthday Card than a Book
Derived From Web , Sep 11, 2021
Eric Carle's illustrations are adorable and I love them. The book has no substance in terms of telling a story. It is more like a card than a book. I would have bought it if I had known it was a story book. The Eric Carle book would have been a much better gift.

Great birthday book!
Derived From Web , Sep 4, 2021
I bought it to read to my students. I was not sure how special it would be until I read that Eric Carle had passed away. Each time a child in my room has a birthday, I' ll read this book. My kids are turning five.

Nice!
Derived From Web , Jul 15, 2021
I was worried about the reviews about it being a large birthday card, but it was actually really nice. It's a short book, but most of Eric Carle's are longer. The pictures and colors are striking. The family signed it for my daughter's birthday and everyone had a lot of fun writing something clever on the page. We still like to read it.

Really cute and simply birthday book
Derived From Web , Jan 2, 2020
My son had a first birthday and we used this as a guest book. We had to leave well wishes for family. We' ll give it to him once he's old enough to read, so he doesn't ruin it, but it's in storage so he won't ruin it. A book with fun colors.

He loved it!
Derived From Web , May 25, 2019
For my grandson's 6 th birthday, I sent this and a Very Hungry Caterpillar kit so he could watch the caterpillar turn into butterflies and release them. The Very Hungry Caterpillar is one of our favorite books to read together, as he loved all of it. He can now read his own birthday card. The gift has a great addition.

more of an elaborate card
Derived From Web , Mar 21, 2019
This isn't a book for children under the age of 18. It's more like a card. It's not bad, but not what I was expecting.

Only for Eric Carle fans...
Derived From Web , Mar 16, 2019
I bought this for my son's birthday because he loves the Hungry Caterpillar book. There isn't much of a story. It's almost like a kids version of a coffee table book. If you are a fan of his work, you should get it.

Dont expect a story. Its a long boring bday card
Derived From Web , Feb 8, 2019
I will return the book. We were expecting a book, but we were both disappointed. A birthday card isn't a birthday card. He asked where the story is. There is a short uninteresting sentence every other page. A card is put into a book. The paragraph was split into a few pages.
