Book Overview

Join Mouse from If You Give a Mouse a Cookie as he celebrates Valentine's Day with all the friends he loves.

This board book with sturdy pages is perfect for preschoolers, who will enjoy the simple introduction to the fun of Valentine's Day.

This title follows Mouse as he makes valentines for all of his friends, said School Library Journal. Each valentine is made to represent what he loves most about each of his friends, such as Pig 'because she's a good dancer' and Bunny 'because she's the best at hide-and-seek.'

Budding artists and crafters will love this book, perfect for pairing with Valentine's Day activities. A surprise at the end adds to the read-aloud fun

   There's a reason.....
The illustrations are cute and the story is entertaining, so these books are popular with both children and adults. You can't go wrong with her books, from When You Give A Mouse A Cookie to the many other books she has written. My adult child wants to add to the collection. I have to buy more for my kids because the adult child refuses to give them up. The books teach lessons in sharing.

   GENDER CONFUSING!!
The book is very confusing. The girl looked like a boy and the boy looked like a girl with pink sandals. I wasn't reading it out loud because the sentence said " he" and my daughter said " she" without being able to read. Don't get this book if you don't want your child to be confused about genders. It is!

Definitely not equal to the first book in series
I thought this would be very similar to the original, " If You Give a Mouse a Cookie...". Not a lot. It is not a horrible book.

   Cute book, heavy cardboard
All of the If You Give a Mouse a Cookie books are good. The story is cute, the pages are colorful, and the cardboard is heavy enough that a little child won't tear it.

   Not so “New” condition
The book is complete, sound, and clean, with moderate signs of wear, such as tiny but moderate edge chips, but it has noticeable bumps all around the book. When I purchase new books, I like to get them in new condition.

I would buy 10 times if I have to
My daughter's favorite book is this one. She loves it so much that we bought it again after it was ruined by a toddler. She has never tried to mimic words we say to her. It is a cute story.

   Not much of a book
I purchase a lot of children's books. This one doesn't have much. Really basic. Not much of a story to tell. I was not happy when I read it to my granddaughter. I wouldn't recommend it to you.

   Damaged Book
The book is lovely, but it can't possibly be new as advertised. There are several breaks in the binding and cover. It looks used!

but our 3 year old was struggling to understand Valentine's Day and this was an adorable way to explain it
We rarely buy holiday- themed books, but this was an adorable way to explain to our 3 year old how sweethearts day is celebrated. She reads it months later. It ties in nicely with the Give a Mouse a CookiePig a Pancake books. The board book is easy to read.

   Another great "Mouse" book
Laura Numeroff's books are what we love. The book was not disappointing. The collection of her books are included in this story. A board book is a good read for young children.
