Book Overview

New York Times Bestseller
Dr. Harleen Quinzel has a theory: mental illness is a survival mechanism. As she seeks to help the broken souls of Gotham City piece together their sanity she will become the one thing she fears the most: one of them. A bold new retelling of the tragic origin of Harley Quinn told through the eyes of the only person who knows her better than anyone: Harleen.

A young psychiatrist with a potential cure for the madness that haunts Gotham City, Dr. Harleen Quinzel must prove her revolutionary theory to a skeptical establishment by delving into the disturbed minds of Arkham Asylum's deadliest inmates. But the more time she spends with her criminally insane subjects, the closer she is drawn to one patient in particular--and the further she falls away from reality. The birth of legendary antihero Harley Quinn and the shocking origins of her twisted romance with the Joker are revealed in Harleen, a stunning new tale of love and obsession written and illustrated by renowned comics storyteller Stjepan Sejic (Aquaman: Underworld, Sunstone).

   Brilliant Harley Quinn Origin Story!!
So far, I'm not disappointed, Mr. G.L.L.L.I. said. I've always enjoyed reading backstories, especially this one. Tony Bennett's voice is great, too.

   Great book, not-so-good conditions
I'm still not sold on the book. The only problem I had was some of the pages were stuck together, so I had to peel them away. Obviously, some pages were damaged from this, but luckily I'm still able to read it ok, he said.

Great look into the origin of Harley Quinn
I really enjoyed the take on Harley Quinn origin story. Quinn was a total badass. A good read, Paul.

Must have for fans of Harley Quinn
The second part of the story is a great retelling of the origin story. Though I'm not a huge fan of the Joker's art, the story is extremely engaging and the art, tho admittedly not my favorite depiction of the villain, is worth a buy on its own merits.

All 3 Books in 1 Hardcover
The book is also available in three different formats: hardback, paperback and one-to-one. The artwork is excellent, good story to a character we all know and understand, Raymond said. It's great to see Hasbro again, said Ragin.

   A must read imo
Most people know the story of Harley and the Joker. Whether you think of them as a couple or a twisted relationship, this origin story sheds new light on what choices brought them to this point. Spoiler alert: The third and final season of "The Defenders" will premiere on CBS next May. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed. But her ambition is her downfall, as it leads her right into the path of the Joker. And even as smart as she is, she can't help but fall prey to him, and make it that much easier for him to manipulate her. The story makes you question what exactly the Joker feels for her, if anything, even though it's clear what Harley feels for her. Did she get closer to the Joker than anyone else? It's just that sometimes things just aren't always so cut and dry. Also, the artist's style is very good. If you think this is great advice, read it.

This should be the definitive story for Harley's origins
What I can say is this was literally my favorite series of 2019, the art is beautiful, and the story is amazing, too. Sejic did a great job of taking the elements from Mad Love, but modernizing and diving deeper into what made Harley become a villain and lose herself to the Joker. On top of that, some of the more cliched parts of the story have been dropped, making it not just a more grounded retelling of the origins but in a relatable way. Even knowing how it ends, it's still thrilling to read. On top of that, Harvey Dent, while a side character is fleshed out a bit at the same time, is a great writer. Even though it is now in a collection, with an amazing coversleeve combo, I still think it would be great to see this into a movie. It's just that they call it quits."

   It's Stjepan Sejic
Even if you don't like the Superhero genre, this is a must-have. It's just that cover and sleeve are worth it alone. It's just amazing how fast the game of cards has changed. It's great to be back home, said Blair.

The cover and overlay of the cover are beautiful all on it's own, and the art and story are just what I wanted, he said. It's beautiful, said Crissy.
