Nothing like the other Piggie and Gerald Books
We love all the Piggie and Gerald books and are proud of them, so we were excited to see this offering. However, it is nothing like the other books. The text is a higher reading level than the rest of the books, so it is not a good fit for early readers. The book relies heavily on themes from the other books, so if you haven 't read them, the jokes will fall flat. It has the feeling of want to capitalize on the success of the Piggie and Gerald series, but without success.

But our favorite book of his
We bought this for a school signing, but I wish we bought one of his other books. My daughter likes it, but I don 't really care about it and never asks to read it. We're big fans of the elephant and piggie and this did not do it for us just.

   A whole lot of fun.
They are perfect to teach young children and are very fun for both the reader and the listener. This one is fun because it is a book inside a book and talks about pretending.

   Good stuff
My daughter is beginning to get to the high end of the age group for these books, but this book is fun. The drawings are really well done, much more emotional than Willems's simple, but emotional drawings.

   Utterly hilarious!
This latest installment of the series '' Elephant and Piggie Love Reading is utterly hilarious! This is written and illustrated by Caldecott winning illustrator Dan Santat and is all about Harold and Hog, who seem to be their favorite characters, but discover that they may have to do something different than they planned. It is funny, especially if you read other elephant and piggie books.

Fun for Fans of Mo Willems
It was easy to read for them, and they both giggled at the story. They also spoke with each other after they finished, then read it again! If your children are not familiar with the Elephant and Piggie books, they should probably read a few from the series before reading this one.

A Santat and Willems collaboration: genius!
The elephant and piggie formula is turned on its ear. PIggie and Hog are the real counterparts of Harold and PIggie... or are they? It is hilarious to see how Harold and Hog handle this situation and its effect on their friendship. It is perfect for beginning readers, and this adult was also thoroughly amused! I highly recommend this book -- another win for Dan Santat and Mo Willems!

   eh.
We are big Mo williams fans, but my five-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter did not really like reading this. My younger was especially concerned, as he couldn t really get into it.

   Mo Willems does it again!
Love all the books by Mo Willems and this is no exception! It is really creative and fun, great for children who read independently, children who read independently and parents who have to read to listen.

   #piggieforlife
This book is about a real pig and a real elephant that pretends to be Gerald and Piggie. This is an imaginative collaboration between Dan Santat and Mo WIllems. This book has the Signpost Contrast and Contradictions because Hog is carefree, but Harold is careful. There is also an Aha moment in the story of Harold and Hog learning that, what you see on the outside doesn t determine who you are on the inside. We thought this book was real and we liked the funny pictures.
