This coloring book is made of super high-quality paper (I'd say about 28lb) and gold embellishments ...
When I heard about these coloring books, I pre-ordered them all. I didn't need it that day because I got this a little late, but that was okay with me. This coloring book is made of high quality paper and gold, which makes it more grown up. You can use the color pictures towards the end for reference. I may be off by a page or two, but I counted over 80 coloring pages and 16 color pages. There are many types of pattern coloring and portrait coloring. This is the perfect gift for any potter-heads, I am so impressed.

   fun stuff!!!!
I'm going to duplicate my answers for each of the large coloring books because they are all done by the same company and are very similar in set up and style. Very well drawn. Some people will complain that some pics are 2 pages and joined so far down in the spine that they can't be torn out to display. I'm on 59. I don't put my coloring book pages on my walls. Nope. That was stopped in grade school. I don't care how pretty they are or how well I colored them. No offense was meant to those of you who consider that information important. I'm sorry if you thought that this was offensive and an intentional barb was thrown in your direction. Nope. It was meant to be a small gesture of assistance. LKC

   Fun and Detailed!
There is a fun coloring book. The Adult Coloring Book is hype. Very relaxing. They make your creativity come alive! I colored the first three pages and have enjoyed them all. I have been using colored pencils that blend easily. I will be purchasing more coloring books. Especially Harry Potter.

I was a little disappointed in Scholastic with this to be honest
I was a little disappointed in the book. A coloring page can be a bit overwhelming, but some of the pages were really intricate. The book doesn't lie flat when it's fully open because the coloring images go all the way into the binding. It's difficult to color all the way to the edge of the spine, which is problematic with the two page spreads. I had a problem with the use of black in areas. I was working on a page about the World Cup and the graphic was orange, blue, and green. I had to either change the color of the image or leave out the green from the original graphic because it was filled in with black. That was annoying to me. If you're just looking to have some fun, this coloring book could be for you.

A must have for Potter Heads
Some flaws are mentioned in other reviews, such as the two different styles of illustration, lack of non specific scenes of the castle, Diagon Alley, or classrooms, and the ridiculous two page spread of the weird dancing nipple pierced troll... just skip that one if you want. This is really great. There is a lot of detail in most of the drawings and it is fun for anyone who is a mild fan. My 5 year old daughter and I both have our own copies of the same book. It is great for any age. A must have for all Potter-Heads.

   Color in the magic
Adult coloring books are relaxing and I've gotten into them recently. Combining two of my favorites would be better. The images are very detailed and can be a little more annoying than relaxing. Images are straight from the movies so it's a nice reference to take you back into the magical world of HP. Just got it in yesterday and already colored 3 pages. Pre-ordering the other 3 for later in the year is definitely something that I will do.

   Only so-so
As far as the drawings are concerned, it's ok. The scenery is good, but the faces don't look like the character. There are a bunch of coloring books done by the same artist, we also got The Sherlock one, and I have the same issue, but this should not be a big deal. You would think that they would try to find someone who can capture the likeness of the faces.

*****The artwork is beautiful, Any Harry Potter fan would love this!*****
The gift basket was for Harry Potter. The artwork is beautiful. The receiver is afraid to color it because she may mess it up. She has an extra one so I will buy her another one. Any Harry Potter fan would enjoy this. It is hard for younger children to color. Excellent quality.

   Beautiful illustrations
It is a perfect gift for a Harry Potter fan. I am hesitant to color the illustrations because of the risk of ruining them. The illustrations are very detailed, so I would recommend this for older children and adults. My 3 year old is not capable of coloring in this. This one is for mama.
