Book Overview

Ladybugs, snails, and butterflies Oh my This charming introduction to ten garden bugs, paired with friendly text and bold, basic patterns, provides a great high-contrast experience for young developing eyes.

Newborns cannot fully recognize colors, so the sharp contrast between black and white patterns and illustrations allows babies to follow along and make connections to the real world, an important building block for communication skills.

Using simple greetings like Hello, bumblebee and Good to see you, dragonfly alongside black-and-white art by Julissa Mora, Hello, Garden Bugs is the perfect board book for babies just beginning to look around and learn about their world.

Featured in Omnivoracious.

Also available: Hello, Baby Animals and Hello, Ocean Friends. Coming soon: Hello, My World.

   Pictures are amazing!
I like the different languages in it, but I wish it was more of a story or atleast had more language in it. The pictures are amazing, very engaging for my little one that is only 6 months old.

Cute book! Great for a baby shower gift for a newborn!......
This is a cute book, too, said Blair. It is great to set up for an infant to look at the world through the prism of black and white, not colors, for a few minutes after birth, he said. It would be great to use for tummy time, too. But the book is also very much a children's delight, suitable for older children as well. All photos are included in the book.

Simple and Sweet baby loves it.
My baby absolutely loves it. Each message has a bug saying hello in a different way. It's just that she "reads" it to her brother, 3. Both love it and are working on it.

   Great for Newborns
My baby loves looking at them, which she could do from just a few days old. Other books and toys were advanced for her, so it was great to have something that she could enjoy in those first few weeks home, said Blair.

   great for CVI
My grandson has CVI and this book was just what we needed for him, Mrs. Dhaliwal said.

   Mesmerizing
I think they're great looking animals, too, said Dr. Goin. There are just a few words that come to mind: "There's not a lot of words," said Blair. This activity set is great for babies and toddlers to engage in their favourite activities.

   Fun new baby gift
A lot of fun graphics. We're also delighted to give away an assortment of favorite baby books to new parents. The curated collection includes Beatles' music, Taylor's and Hinds's from almost 19 years ago.

   Paid for new, received used
My daughter has absolutely loved the ocean animals version of this book for months so I decided to order the other two I've seen on Amazon. They both look like great books, but for some reason the garden bug one I received is clearly used, which is disappointing when you pay for a brand new book.

   Good 1st year library choice
I'm a big fan of the Beatles, and I like the new look of the Concorde. The book cover is illustrated by Pauley, a British artist who has done extensive work with the Royal Family. There are several ways to say hello in English, French, German and other languages to common garden dwellers. The book will allow children to regard insects as friendly, approachable animals rather than fearful, hate-filled creatures. Highly recommend this book.
