Though no one likes to think about them, disasters and serious accidents can happen any time, anywhere, and it's all too easy to take for granted the availability of trained first responders or access to emergency medical resources. This practical, comprehensive guide is based on the assumption that a reader may be in a remote location or in a post-disaster situation where professional medical care is unavailable. Written by a former Green Beret medic with more than 25 years of combined field and clinical experience in both military medicine and herbalism, Herbal Medic covers first-aid essentials, such how to assess a situation and a person in need of treatment and distinguish between illness and injury, as well how to prepare and use herbs when there is no access to conventional medical treatment. In addition, the book provides a basic introduction to herbal medicine, with detailed entries on the best herbs to use in treatment; information on disease in the body and how herbs work against it; instructions for making herbal preparations; a list of those herbs the author has found most useful in his clinical experience; and a wide array of specific herbal care protocols for a multitude of acute health issues.
Herbal Medic: A Green Beret's Guide To Emergency Medical Preparedness And Natural First Aid is 416 pages long.

A must for any health library

This book is packed with information for those of us who want to know more about ditching medicine and working with herbs as medicine. I've been disappointed with other herbal medicine books I've bought recently. Many have no idea what the internet is all about, much less how it works. The book is written by a doctor who has worked with herbal medicines and gives us in-depth information on how they work. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Best herbal medicine book on the market
Derived From Web , Oct 19, 2021
For me, the whole thing is a huge passion, even though I'm not a doctor. In a past life I taught edible and medicinal wild plant classes as a park naturalist. Thanks to Sam, I've attended a couple of his classes. He is a wealth of knowledge and an excellent instructor, said Dr. Timothy Yeates, director of Baylor's Robert Hemenway School of Medicine. There is a lot of interest in this book among preppers. In the event of a severe crisis, you will have to use up your stored medical supplies. It's great to have some natural alternatives, Mr. Dhaliwal said. It's the best herbal medicine book I've ever read.

Wow! Excellent book.

I'm not interested in traditional Chinese medicine. Sam Coffman, the author, knows his subject intimately. He has training in herbs and how to use them properly. Sam is an excellent teacher, he said. I have learned an extraordinary amount from him, said Dr. Goin.

If I could only have ONE medical book, it would be this one.
Derived From Web , Aug 19, 2021
THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE BOOK IS VAST. If I could only have one book about medicine, it would be this one, hands down. I would have given my eye teeth for this book had I been properly certified as a Wilderness EMT. I have never seen a book like this one. It is well organized, easy to navigate, and has all the necessary keywords. Right now I'm thinking I'll put together something like a 9-month or 12-month herbal first aid training program based on this book, and maybe a summer intensive course, and then I can sell it. There is so much gold to pick up from this book, Sosa said.
