This is a very nicely illustrated short narrative of British history.
A great summary of key moments in British history, well illustrated, personal great quality of print, I truly enjoyed this book. I bought it for myself first, not as well for my father.

   Comprehensive and Concise
This book enjoyed reading. It is a comprehensive and concise way of presenting the history of Britain and Ireland. It is the first time I bought a book from DK that not only focuses on British history, but also includes Ireland. The only thing I would change is the print a little bit. I understand how they wanted to fit everything in a book and they had to compromise on the print. Other than that, good quality paper, illustrations are a lot --- overall, thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend this book.

If you want a great book on Britain, I highly recommend this.

Beautifully illustrated overview of British Isles
Content is great and engagement is visually engaging. The title refers to Scotland and Wales, but there is also much to Britain and Ireland.

I don't regret buying the book, BUT
I have an intense love-hate relationship with this book, and both emotions stem from the exact same thing, the many large and highly beautiful illustrations on its sides. The problem with these large and beautiful illustrations is that the main text is minute. I actually have to read this book with the help of a magnifying glass! Of course, I am 68, which plays a role in my difficulty, but I do have good prescription glasses. I do acknowledge that perhaps young people can read the text without any problem. My guess is that the book is intended as a coffee table book, but as an American who wants to know the history of Britain and Ireland, I read every single word. It can take me forever!

   Tiny Print
If you read this book, which does not make history fun, you will definitely suffer from eye strain. Find a different book :

   Great book!
I could gaze at each page! The book is of good size! Great for kids who love to look at the sides of books, like I did when I was a kid. DK is phenomenal at creating publications that one can absorb just knowledge.

   A great coffee table book
Visuals helped me remember the chronological order of events, which was my main goal.

Wonderful colored photos and well worth the money
This historical book is extremely heavy, but packed with large information. A nice addition to the other source books I have in England.
