A book glorifying abusive relationships.

Do you want to read an entire book about a girl falling in love with an abusive man? The book is for you. I can't understand why the author thought it was okay to justify emotional abuse. Sky is manipulated, lied to and abused. She is put down under the guise of humor. She was terrified by the mood swings. He punches walls, lockers and cars in fights. This isn't acceptable in a relationship. Why are we promoting this behavior as a bad boy? It's not normal to be afraid of your partner when they're angry. A book is disgusting. It breaks my heart that this book is a good example of this type of relationship.

Amazing!
Derived From Web , Nov 28, 2020
The book was amazing. When I finish a book, I usually pick up another one, but I couldn't do that when I finished Hopeless. I needed to just sit and read. I enjoyed the development of the characters. Since the book is in Sky's perspective, it's difficult to draw him well. The things that may have been annoying didn't bother me. Colleen Hoover did a great job with several story points. I was pleasantly surprised by some of the big reveals I predicted. Some people might say that aspects of this novel are contrived, but she does them well and makes it wonderful. It is written in a way that is beautiful and honest. This isn't a book for everyone, but it's still good. I'm interested in reading more of Colleen Hoover's books.

Could not put this down, until 60% of the way through....
Derived From Web , May 11, 2018
I almost feel sad that I'm giving only 3 stars to this book, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Here is why... The author painted a clear picture of a sheltered young girl who would be entering high school for the first time. We were introduced to her family and friends. The novel took off after we were introduced to the love interest. The interactions between them were wonderful. I couldn't get enough of these two. Things become awkward and frightening after a gloomy background enters the book. It seemed like the whole book was turned upside down. I enjoyed the two main characters and their relationship, but the emotional trauma they went through was too much. I like to escape to a happy place when I read a book. This did not end that way.
