If everyone grew up emulating Horton it would be a much better world.

It's just that they call it, "The Blair Witch's." I've never met Mr. Horton, but I'm sure he'll find the time to review his book. What remains to be said is that there will be no shortage of Beatles material left over after nearly 60 years. It's more than a classic. It is a sacred text in the children's literature genre. I read it so many times that I can still recite parts of it from memory. Every parent, and grandparent, should read it to their kids. If everyone grew up emulating Horton it would be a far better world.

Integrity, faithfulness, perserverence, inner strength
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
This is one of my all-time favourite books. 0 3171127 This is one of my most memorable childhood books. It has shaped my life to become a person of integrity. This book is a great choice for teaching perseverance and inner strength to children. Strangely, I find myself quoting this book almost daily from time to time. The other guy said what I said, and I said what I meant. He has a very faithful companion, said Mr. Rolfe.

Horton is my superhero!
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
He is a great role model, said Dr. Elizabeth Horton, director of the Children's Hospital at Montefiore. Only in two books does he appear. Not only does he keep his word, he does it at great personal cost, even when faced with his own death. It's great to see your kids grow up with this book. I have eight and they are all grown up, and none of them have turned into an axe murderer yet, so I guess it worked!

A beautiful story
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
I still love the book. However, the theme of parental devotion across traditional boundaries is beautiful, and certainly ahead of its time in 1940.

My favorite Dr. Seuss book
Derived From Web , Dec 14, 2021
This was my kid's favorite Dr. Seuss book, and now it's my grandkids favorite too. It's great to be back home, said Jennette, "especially when they are taking a bath." The older one loves to repeat that famous line, "I meant what I said, and I said what meant, an elephant's faithful hundred percent."

Wonderful Dr Seuss!!
Derived From Web , Jun 1, 2021
Along with all the Dr Seuss books, Horton Hatches, along with all the other iconic symbols of happy childhood, are readily recognizable. I have read this book and many others by Dr. Seuss to my younger cousins over and over. The fact that some of these articles have been taken out of print due to some false claim of racism is beyond ridiculous. These books express what children SHOULD be taught and do not contain any racist elements, he said.

Can we NOT with the paper stickers???
Derived From Web , Feb 15, 2021
My daughter who is performing in Seussical this year for the other performers to sign at the end as a souvenir for her. Newcomer Tobey Maguire is playing Mayzie, the wife of British Prime Minister David Cameron. The book is in great condition, with original publisher and bindings. I just hate the paper sticker on the front.

A Great Book for Teaching the Short /e/ Sound!
Derived From Web , Dec 2, 2019
Although this story is a great children's classic, I purchased it to teach my Kindergarten class and to work with SPED kids to learn the short e sound. I tell my students every time they say egg, elephant or Ed they say the short e in unison. This book has worked great with the short e sound, said Dr. Chester Floyd, director of music for the city. My students absolutely love the book.
