When Bruce gets home from a southern migration trip with his goslings, he is tired. He is grumpy. And he is definitely not in the mood to share his home with the trio of mice who have turned his den into a hotel.
There's a possum pillow fight wreaking havoc in one room, a fox luring guests into a stew in the kitchen, and a snuggly crew of critters hogging the bed. Bruce growls and grumbles and tries to throw them all out, but the entrepreneurial mice just can't take a hint. Bruce is in a little over his head, especially once the goslings join the staff. Will this grumpy bear ever get his quiet, peaceful den back to himself?Praise for Mother Bruce: * W]ry text and marvelously detailed pictures juxtapose uproariously. . .Visually beautiful, clever, edgy, and very funny. It takes about 5 Hours and 4 minutes on average for a reader to read Hotel Bruce (Mother Bruce Series, Book 2). A breath of fresh air children's story!

A very good book. The pictures are just as much a contribution to enjoying the book as the story. Adults and children alike enjoyed the story. Many people have requested to read it again. Lots of giggles and cracks, and I don't think there's any politically correct agenda behind the story, Mr. Rule told the judge. It's just a very cute story, said Blair. Ryan has a sequel to Hotel Bruce and I got a copy of that for my grands too. It's just as cute as the first story and I will probably buy another copy for my grandnieces too. The pages are not board-type, so if you have younger ones that might tear them, you will want to supervise them.

One of my sons is a huge fan of the show. The Mother Bruce board books and easy readers are kept for love of the characters, and this one is absolutely favorite.

Bruce Bear books are the best!
Derived From Web , Dec 14, 2020
My grandson and I accidentally discovered this writer while we were hiking in a local park. I was a little skeptical of the story line at first, a grouchy bear didn't sound like a great role model, but the author did a wonderful job of turning the entire story into a whimsical and humorous delight! We so thoroughly enjoyed the story that I came home and immediately ordered every Bruce Bear book in this series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have not disappointed us, they are all delightful and we can't wait for the next one!

Funny book, the kids will enjoy it!
Derived From Web , Sep 21, 2019
Bought this book for my girlfriend to read to her 2nd grade class, she had just finished reading Mother Bruce and they absolutely loved it! Second graders, surprised her with this one, and I think I enjoyed it as much as the second graders! After she read this she went and bought the other two to finish the series. Great writing and great illustrations, said Pauley. The Harrisons will be disappointed.

This is a follow up to Mother Bruce. The story of grumpy mother Bruce and his geese will continue here, and my kids love it. If you own both, I'm sure you'll be reading them back to back!

A Big Hit
Derived From Web , Jan 26, 2018
My grandchildren, ages 4 and 7, love this book, as well as the first book, "Mother Bruce." The illustrations support the story and offer clever touches of realism. Be ready for some much-needed laughter at Bruce's expense as well as sympathy for his plight.

What a great story. My five year old enjoyed it as ...

Great story. My daughter and I both enjoyed it as well. Ryan Higgins would have continued the story from the point of view of the turtle that confuses the gosling as the parent.
