What a great imagination!
A sad, beautiful love song to the ties and grief that bind us
Each chapter is a different perspective, a different person, so it can feel a little jarring at first, but they're all connected by a carefully crafted timeline. The film tells the story of people connected by grief, who don't know how the strings of life pull their stories together. He added that the group is "all just blindly stumbling around in the dark." Astronomers have found a planet that is a mere blue dot in the vast darkness of space. The universe is rising again, and how high will we go in the dark? What will we go, what will we overcome, how will we evolve? I found this book to be deeply, insightful, and deeply sad.
But unlike any other story I've ever read, the first several chapters are so disjointed that I had a hard time getting into the book. But finally, the last chapter really tied it all up, brought it all together for me, Habo said.
   Not sure
This was a terrible idea to read during the pandemic. Although the book did have a hopeful ending, it was too good to be true. I don't think it was the author's idea to be depressing, Blair said. It's just that I was probably at fault, too.
   Well written but disjointed
It was a very well written book, Hughes said. Each chapter was a short story with a string attached to the next. There was a chapter in the book where nobody knew where they were, and that was never explained. By the end of the second half, I was disappointed when the writer tried to tie it all together. It just didn't come together in a way that made sense for me.
   What a read
It's great to see so many people supporting the cause. A passionate, witty, perceptive novelist, Evans's fiction stands in a class by itself. It was so well written with the interconnected stories and the human characters that you felt as though you knew at the end. Anyone who likes sci-fi first and wants something with a little more heart? HBO also considered making a great limited series out of it.
