This Description may be from another edition of this product.
Rainmakers make the big bucks. For their companies and for themselves. Here's how.
The rainmaker is the person who brings big clients, big money, and big deals into an organization. How do they make the rain fall? Waiting for luck won't do, a very particular human being must get involved. Successful rainmakers are among the highest-paid employees in every company in every industry. They operate under many titles--owner, partner, sales representative, CEO, agent, managing director, and fund-raiser.
Author Jeffrey Fox is a rainmaker who knows how to talk about his gift. He pursues revenues and, in his sharp, witty style, takes you along for the ride. This hard-hitting collection of sales and marketing stories is packed with fifty smart, no-nonsense tips that show you how to succeed with any customer.
Fox will explain the Rainmaker's Credo, why customers don't care about you, the six killer sales questions, why you should dare to be dumb, and why breakfast meetings bring rain. He'll help you discover why you should never be in a meeting, why earthquakes don't count, why you should sell on Friday afternoons, and other critical skills. If becoming a rainmaker is your goal--whatever your business--How to Become a Rainmaker is the program for you.

When it comes to how to read more sales and the best sales training available -- this is the number 1 book to achieve more sales, heed and actually DO the advice. If you do, you become the highly paid rainmaker you dream of being and will be able to write your own ticket to sales success. I already have the earlier edition and was so happy to see this update.

A good read for the non-seller, too!
Derived From Web , May 23, 2022
I am not a professional salesperson, so I won 't weigh in the pro's and con's of the previous reviews. I found myself in a position where I needed to make some money, and a friend recommended to me this book. I didn't have time to spend through a huge book with lots and lots of details on selling. I recommend this book highly ''. It is an easy read and focuses on the basics and getting your message across. As a clinical psychologist by profession, I even found a few suggestions that are helpful in my practice. By focusing on the basics, Fox avoids the trap of falling into smoke, mirrors, and tricks, which fall into both salespeople and therapists from time to time. I leave the debate about the merits of this book inside the field to the professional salespeople. If you know something about selling, however, and don 't have a great deal of time to devote to it, I would suggest reading this book.

Am I being Punked. Where's the camera?.
Derived From Web , May 23, 2022
This is one of the worst marketing and sales books I ever read! This book is a prank, right? I'll take it back. If you know a 13 year old kid thinking about starting a lawn mowing or baby sitting business, then this is a good book to read.

Nothing original. Common sense laundry list
Derived From Web , Jul 10, 2019
When I read a book in this genre, I look for some original principles that will give me insights about how I can improve my practice. This book was nothing more than a compilation of common sense advice for a salesperson. Carry with you your business card. Don 't keep a pen in your pocket because it could leak and ruin your sales call? I give you a break.

Good Content, Boring Narrator
Derived From Web , Jul 11, 2018
I reminded myself by chapter two that the content is a good refresher. The gentleman who does the audio narration is just boring and uses the same repetitive cadence, tone and inflection.

Great book that's to the point with no fluff
Derived From Web , Jan 22, 2018
It is short and to the point it is. I heard about this book but did not do any research on it before I started. Some of the material was common sense, but I did get quite a few solid nuggets out of it that I will use in my sales career. I would use this book to refer back to because the chapters are easy to read and are quick to understand. I would recommend this book to anyone in sales or trying to get into sales.
