I like the format of this book ''. I bought it for my six-year-old granddaughter and the pictures are cute yet simple enough for her to use the drawing method presented. Since it is a gift, I 'll wait and see how she interacts with it.

Bought it for my 10 year old daughter, but the pictures were more suitable for a toddler. Great quality, just not really what I wanted. Did a full refund and they let me keep the book, so I gave it to a friend's daughter.

It was cute pictures, but my daughter was not impressed that there was not really a step-by-step how to draw it, but showed the picture and then gave you a place to try to copy.

Nice introductory book

This book introduces a great concept to children of focusing on a portion of something at a time, rather than being overwhelmed by trying to duplicate the whole picture. Kids do have short attention spans and the ones that follow may vary. My son chose to use his own drawing methods, but the book supported them still well. Good to buy from :

Fantastic book for beginners

The book does not have very many tips on drawing, but what it does have is the different pages it has for each animal. The animals are friendly and simple for both beginners and even some non-beginners. I bought this for a 9 year old, but when it came in my girlfriend, I saw the book and stole it! She draws, paints and does quite a few different kinds of arts from brushing paint to paint and even attempting to carve wood. On the other hand, I can do a stick figure, which is all I can do. I had to order another book with her stealing the book. It is a great book for beginners of all ages, not just for children. Cheap and made from recycled paper, but not the white sturdy color, it is actually a good page with odd brown quality, so that it won 't tear too easily or rip.

This is not a book that teaches animals to draw. It says step by step, but is literally a picture on a grid and then it says : Now draw it!
