This book is very good. Practical advice on how to care for others and oneself in many areas of life. I am Christian, but the way it is written is deeply resonant with my values, he said. However, it is not explicitly Buddhist, as there are only a handful of statements referring to Buddhism in the whole book. It's great to hear from people of all faiths and backgrounds.

Short strictures remind us how to be loving
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
These are not earth shattering revelations or passages that will suddenly change your life, it's just that they happened slowly. These are reminders of how to live a loving life, of how to be a loving person, Raymond said. While they're great to read at any time of the day or night, I like to read one before bed or when I'm having a particularly hard day.

Relationship Love not platonic love
Derived From Web , Jul 14, 2020
I've read all the books, and I love them all. The products are thought provoking and also easy to apply to life, they are also very useful. Easy to recall and are open hearted about love and kindness. No blame, blame yourself. I would like to express though that this particular Love seems to be centered around an intimate relation not necessarily a friendship or platonic relationship but around someone you live with like a husband or partner or significant other. I was looking for something that touched on platonic friendships, Tunick said. But women can be tough, too.

Nice fast read...
Derived From Web , May 10, 2020
It was a good quick read, but I was reading a subject that was due to codependency, Raymond said. When a certain subject gives us certain details, but runs around in a circle from knowing what the root of the problem is, I dislike that.

A lovely, powerful book
Derived From Web , Dec 20, 2019
To love without knowing how to love the person we love, Raymond said. Such a simple sentence packed with so much wisdom, I must say. The difference between the feeling of love and the skill to love is an important one. We all know that but never have I had a teacher clearly identify the difference between true love and unhealthy attachments. True love is not about identifying and fixing the deficiencies in others, but rather, cultivating love and healing in yourself first. If we love with a wounded heart, we do great harm to others and only perpetuate our own suffering while creating fresh trauma for others, he said. This lovely book has inspired me to do more work on my own wounds while reminding me of simple, powerful practices to show love for my spouse and children, Bernadette writes. McCartney's voice is heard clearly on the tape, which is also available on CD. And, if you're lucky, you may even get to meet an honored guest.
