Turn your retirement savings into a steady paycheck that will last for life with Jane Bryant Quinn's 'how to' book that covers every phase of retirement finance. Bottom line, anyone on the retirement track or in retirement should own this book (Huffington Post).

Today, people worry that they're going to run out of money in their older age. That won't happen if you use a few tricks for squeezing higher payments from your assets--from your Social Security account (find the hidden values there), pension (monthly income or lump sum?), home equity (sell and invest the proceeds or take a reverse mortgage?), savings (should you buy a lifetime annuity?), and retirement accounts (how to invest and--critically--how much to withdraw from your savings each year?). The right moves will not only raise the amount you have to spend, they'll stretch out your money over many more years. With this book, financial expert Jane Bryant Quinn, America's dean of personal finance (Forbes), explains how to turn your retirement funds into a paycheck that will last for life.

She also shows how to look at your savings and investments in a new way. If you stick with super-safe choices the money might not last. You need safe money to help pay the bills in your early retirement years. But to ensure that you'll Read More chevron_right

Good Read with Good Information if you are young enough to implement the suggestions.
I am 70 years old and feel that this book should be read by someone who is perhaps 45-50 years old or YOUNGER. She makes many good points and we retired and it was just too late to implement her suggestions. I also thought that this book is for folks who are wealthier than we are. I am glad I read it and pass it on to a friend who is younger and richer than me.

   This book is NOT updated.
Across the top of the cover you find the wording updated completely for planning today. I bought this book mainly on the recommendation of a brilliant author ''. Burton G. Malkiel, who said in his praise : The Class Book for Practical Financial Advice ''. This book was re-implemented in 2020, however, with NO mention of the SECURE Act, which was released in late 2019. The SECURE Act has changed significantly some inherited IRAs via the 10 year rule ''.

A very practical, excellent financial guide
I used this book extensively to begin my retirement investments and to lead my estate preparations. I even gave a copy to my best friend, who is a professional financial advisor to help him with the latter. It hasn 't worked out yet, and a great majority of financial situations and questions are answered such that you might do better with many professional advisers, especially those who work on a commission.

Great book for the average Joe!!!
These snooty, new reviewers look at their noses at this book because it is nothing new lol... whatever. She did not write this book for these pompous j*** offs. She wrote it for ME, and every other average working class guywomen approaching retirement and knows that they need to learn more about their next stage of life, for me this book is priceless! She knows her audience... ME. She did not write this for the financial retirement geniuses. She explains things in layman terms, so that it is easy to understand... PERFECT!!! !And I bet even the self-righteous financial guys could learn a thing or two if they could read it really. In this book, JBQ covers a lot of stuff. It is in my opinion very informative and priceless. Jane Bryant Quinn thanks you.
