Packed with info needed NOW
Derived From Web , Mar 11, 2021
Though the book is packed with information useful to everyone now checking your insurance coverage, storing food and water, sustainable investing, etc. Chapters cover specific calamities that now include hurricanes and tornadoes, floods, heat waves, droughts, mosquitoes and ticks, and how you can reduce their negative impact on your life. It's a short book, but was a long page turner for me. As a Houston resident, the recent freeze, as well as hurricanes, heat waves and mosquitoes, only reinforced how timely this book is. HIGHLY recommend ''.

Great book on meaningful preparedness

USA focused, heavily detailed and extremely thorough. It is what every American focused person needs to survive the continuing deterioration of the climate, and I can 't think of a detail that was lacking.

Be prepared
Derived From Web , Mar 6, 2021
I found the well researched knowledge and clear suggestions invaluable in putting together a plan and what is necessary to be well prepared. I sleep a little more comfortably, knowing that I won 't have to start from scratch when disaster strikes, or make serious mistakes when it comes time to recover from any damage to my home. Without hesitating, I recommend this invaluable book to anyone concerned about climate change and prepared.

Really BIG book
Derived From Web , Mar 5, 2021
I haven 't yet read anything really. Hope it is just for information purposes, i.e. Not critical to the survival. At 74, I 'll die in my bed before all this comes to pass.

Scary, Unsettling, and Useful
Derived From Web , Feb 9, 2021
Great read on what is and what will be about the many challenges that the climate change has in store for us. I finished this book time and entertaining, within three days of receiving it. I feel utterly destroyed and upset for the opportunity we lost as a species to stop what is coming, but thankfully this book gives me hope that we can at least try to deal with global weirdness. I'd rather know what is in the store and how to navigate it than pretend that it is not. Definitely recommend to those of us who are prepared to face what is coming and be proactive about what is needed to cope today and in the near future.

Great book!
Derived From Web , Jan 29, 2021
I really enjoy David's episodes of NOVA and thankfully he brings that same energy into this book. You get a lot of well-known facts about climate change and realistic suggestions of actions you can take. Each of them takes no more than a sentence or a paragraph, so that reading becomes either overwhelming or boring. This book is far more realistic in its predictions of what the future holds and what actions you can take to protect yourself than scientists or preppers present to us. It focuses on challenges that will need to be overcome over time and attainable alternatives to how and where we live currently, instead of simply telling you to stop using fossil fuels, andor that society will collapse one day.

If you are moving to Florida - Get this book and decide on West Virginia
Derived From Web , Jan 27, 2021
If you are moving to Florida DON'T! Retirees and others - just don 't move to Florida! If you do, you need to do GeoArbitrage on the climate and have a summer rental place such as Davis, WV. Pogue did not do good research and mention secret niche climate Havens such as Davis, WV. Here Trump lives. Too many tax dodgers and hedge funders from New York come here and drive up the home prices. If you live around Disney World gradually you will become Goofy. If you want to live along the Florida Gulf Coast or the Atlantic Coast... buy FLOOD Insurance and a BOAT.
