Someone new to parenting and has a toddler might benefit from this book. The author takes a long time to finish her work. The constant you are not a bad parent is old. I would not recommend this book to a friend.

Practical, funny and so helpful - highly recommend!

I have a stack of parenting books on my shelf, but this is the only one I have actually finished. I felt that it was written for me. Many of the author's stories describe interactions that have taken place in my house. I find the writing to be helpful, doable, sympathetic, and not judgmental. Even though it feels like it was written for me, there is a market for it beyond me, which makes me feel less alone when it comes to my kids. More than that, it gives many helpful tips and tools that I've been working on incorporating into my parenting, and I believe they are making a difference. I had a lot of aha moments while reading. The book makes me feel ok about my parenting being not perfect. That is a gift. This book is very good.

Funny and Relevant Read for Anyone who has Relationships with Humans
Derived From Web , Oct 13, 2019
I was a bit skeptical. I'm always skeptical about parenting books. I knew it would be fun because of Dr. Naumburg's writing. I didn't think it would be helpful. I was mistaken. And guess what? She makes very simple but helpful observations in terms of triggering for losing and tips for managing them. They're not just for kids. I've been using these tools to keep my patience with my spouse, my parents, my spouse's parents, everyone! If you feel like you are on edge more than you would like to be, this is the place to go.

Read this book and you'll laugh, learn & lose your sh*t a lot less!
Derived From Web , Oct 7, 2019
I have 4 children under the age of 10 which means that I lose my sh*t from time to time, but I consider myself a relatively patient man. In this book, the author offers concrete advice for addressing that problem, speaking to fellow parents in a personable manner. If you read this book, you'll find yourself nodding your head as you spot thetriggers which set you off the most, followed by tools that will make you better equipped to avoid the repeated loss of your sh*t in the future. As we navigate the stress-laden parenting process while trying not to lose our sh*t, it's great to have a quick and easy read.

BUY THIS BOOK!
Derived From Web , Sep 23, 2019
I have read a lot of parenting books but this one was the most helpful and my favorite. My oldest son is challenging and I was a big yeller, so this book offers simple tools to shrink your buttons so your children can't push them quite as easily. It makes you feel reassured that you're not alone and that you're not a bad parent. This book is very good. ?

She gets you and she will HELP you
Derived From Web , Sep 15, 2019
If it wasn't for the title of the book, I might not have picked it up. I was done with parenting books, they made me feel like a bad parent, and their advice was hard to get in a real world setting. Not a book. She really does get you, Dr. Naumburg. I yelled out, yes, not only did I laugh out loud, but I also laughed out loud. Yes! Exactly, that's right. There are multiple times. I have implemented Dr. Naumburg's strategies with great success after having a few profound moments of realization about what was making me snap at my children. The advice is doable. Since reading this book, I feel better about myself as a parent, and I bet you will too.

A Must-Read!
Derived From Web , Aug 26, 2019
This is the funniest book I've read about parenting, with some of the most valuable advice out there. The difficulties of parenting are notglossed over by the author. Losing it is when we are the worst at parenting, and this book gets right to the heart of the matter to make us better parents and better people!
