Finally, proudly, on my bookshelf.
Derived From Web , May 6, 2022
While I was alive during the time that Ginsberg was living and writing HOWL, I was too young to have experienced this sort of life. Based on his depictions, I cringe to think I ever could have found myself in a similar situation. Poetry, I say, is the language of the absurd. It's just that it's not pretty. This is life. It's just that it's not beautiful. He writes a poem that is a cry from the soul, a view of his world through tired, sunken eyes. It is brutal in its honesty. Even as I read it, I was reminded of the Book of Job, and the rantings of Biblical prophets. Not just a good read, it is an integral volume of the canon of poetry, as necessary as anything by Homer, Keats, Shakespeare, Plath, it belongs in your memory, and on your bookshelf.

Howl is great the formatting for the kindle version is not.
Derived From Web , May 6, 2022
Buyers beware, do not buy this for your Kindle. The letters are bunched up and overlap. At its worst, it looks like someone typed a letter, and then went back to that letter and typed another letter over it, and then another. It is a major distraction to say the least. Amazon has to step up its game with its own e-books. Bad formatting is what makes poets shy away from e-books, and this is a clear example of why.

A dose of life.
Derived From Web , May 6, 2022
Our public library had Howl as a book club. Many people found it hard to get over the salty language. I thought it was a profoundly religious work and I've had great admiration for the pope. He really knew how to paint a picture with words. A first rate work with a lot to say, just be open to a dose of life, Raymond said.

Book Required for Class
Derived From Web , May 6, 2022
The teacher said I needed this book "pretty close" to the start of the school term. I placed the order for a used book and received it in less than a week. I actually received it prior to some of my other books that were ordered a week before! Great seller, fast shipping and very reasonable prices, said Vincent.

Cool
Derived From Web , May 6, 2022
I enjoy Ginsberg and many other poets and authors from this era. Kerouac, Burroughs and Kinsley were all friends. Though he is not an author, Cassidy has a book out.

Great
Derived From Web , May 6, 2022
Brand new, in great condition, very promptly. I was unaware that it was the fiftieth anniversary of when the poem was published, my friend pointed out. A nice coincidence, Mr. Dhaliwal said. Thanks for your kind words.

Meets the requirements of political rant
Derived From Web , Aug 7, 2021
It makes me uncomfortable, but it's a good rant. Well written and not epically long, as in saga. It's a manageable rant against the machine that makes sense and speaks to people.

Nice to read the full thing.
Derived From Web , Jan 9, 2021
In college we read a section of Howl and the whole of America for a modern American lit class and I remember thinking I'd rather have Kerouac over Ginsberg. I still prefer Kerouac, but I appreciate Ginsberg's talent and genius now.

CONFUSING BOOK
Derived From Web , Sep 8, 2020
Its a weird read, Gillian. I ordered it after I saw it in a movie, but came to find out it was some weirdo stuff. I don't know whether it's a continuation of the first or a continuation of the second. It's not that much price wise, so I would recommend you get it for yourself and try it out. I would not give it to anyone for the sake of our friendship.

Warped Fun.
Derived From Web , Sep 2, 2020
I had been putting this off for a while.. I had been reading this book for a while. Truly out there in a good way that bunch of dudes were hard core seekers-addicts and the like-if like warped perception-here get it!
