   Another winner from Mo Willems
This book addresses Gerald's anxiety when Piggie announces that she is leaving. He becomes panicked and tries various strategies to prevent her from leaving. This could be a good book to give to a child who tends to jump to conclusions, as it turns out that Piggie is only planning to leave for a short time. It is not the end of Magpie's world, as he knows it, and Gerald is not leaving him forever. However, most important is a fun story with a happy ending. Although they are very different personalities, Elephant and Piggie know pretty well each other and care for each other. The accompanying illustrations are, as always, wonderful.

   Best Early Readers Ever!!
Since they were four years old, my children have loved the Piggie and Elephant book series. At 8 12, they still enjoy reading the funny stories and love to read them aloud to family and friends! This book series for early or reluctant readers highly recommends. The stories are funny for children and adults alike!

   I Am Going!
In this eleventh entry in the Elephant and Piggie series, Mo Willems lets us indulge in the codependencies that mark many early relationships. Some of the best picture books offer nods to the parents who are forced to read them, and there is more than a little waiting for Godot here. As with his famous pigeon, Gerald endows his pen and ink characters with a remarkable range of emotion, allowing the primary intended audience to laugh at their own insecurities, just as they laugh at Mo's. The ending recalls peanut butter rhino, another tasty choice for celebrating friendship over a beautiful lunch.

   I am going
I love reading the elephant and piggy books. The simple art style communicates all the emotions with minimal details. I love how it is an easy read and has no contractions in the sentences. In addition, repeated word patterns are great for early readers. Throughout the series of books, Piggy has been more emotionally attached to Gerald. In this book, Piggy announces that she is traveling ''. Gerald asks her to stay. Who with whom he plays if she is gone? But she remains attached to her statement that she is leaving, completely unmoved by his cries. She tells him to have fun. The best part was when he screams at her why? It was like reading every broken film ever made. The poor guy never saw it coming. I won 't ruin the twist end, but it was just Mo Willems's humor. I liked this one as much as I will surprise my friend and pigs make me sneeze, thank you Mo for making books that are funny for adults as well as children.

   Is Piggie Leaving?
When Piggie announces that he is leaving, Gerald the elephant freaks out a tad. He thinks that Piggie is leaving for good. Of course, we know that Gerald won 't desert the Piggie or this funny series. See how Giral tries to convince Piggie to stay. Young children will identify with Gerald's feelings when he is concerned that his friend is leaving. Everything works for the two characters at the end.

We LOVE Elephant & Piggie books!!
My children LOVE all the elephants'apos ; piggie books. We have the whole set. My kids are now 4 yrs'7yrs old. We have been reading these books since my older son was 2 or 3. The stories are only told in word bubbles as conversations between the 2 main characters, plus a few recurring characters who stop by in some of the stories. We choose a character to be '' and then read the story, which is simple sentences of easy words. I believe that these books were a huge factor in my older son teaching himself to read at a very early age. We routinely give E&P books as gifts, and I always keep my eye for new ones and pre-order well in advance. It's a new package that comes out of the blue and both my boys are very excited when the UPS man brings us a beautiful little E & P book that they have never seen before.
