Not very impressed

This book is so confusing and it conveys the same repetitive message. One side they are scared, then they are not, then not etc. That is it says everything. I think the point is that fun things can sometimes be a little scary, but how a child is supposed to deduce this is not helpful at all from how it is presented. Very disappointed ''.

A win for my 3 & 5 year old
Derived From Web , May 19, 2020
Because of the purchase price, we checked these books out at the library first. We have the whole collection so far and I continue to purchase them. They are simple and a little short, but my kids laugh so hard. For us, big hit.

Perfect for an afternoon reading

The graphics are funny with soft colors and adorable dialogue. I thought I would not try reading it for the first time at night. Had the experience of causing nightmares in very sensitive children.

Short funny book that can lead to discussions with your child
Derived From Web , Jun 11, 2019
We have written all the books by this author. They are funny, but short. My 7 year old dies laughing every time we read together. They address normal issues that children must face in their lives, like understanding and dealing with fear, noticing the differences in others and friendships.

Not to help your scared child.
Derived From Web , Mar 31, 2018
Pretty hard to not like a children's book, but I thought this was supposed to help a scared child. The book literally talks scary things out there until the last page and then its sucj is a letdown. Two stars because my daughter liked the pictures.

I do not recommend it for this purpose

After reading the reviews, I was really looking forward to this book. I felt, however, that it did nothing to help a child who is afraid. It seems to confirm their fear only.

Really? You are Scared?
Derived From Web , Oct 4, 2017
Good book for kids who are afraid to try new things. I would like to see a few more personal things explored like fitting in, but maybe that is another book. Reading it to the first graders was liked and they read it. There was a lot of discussion after that.
