   Cute book, my 2 year old still likes to hear it and we play along most of the time
It engages your child because it says : I like when you hold my hand for example, and then naturally holds hands for a minute before changing the page. I also think that the last two pages of this book got my son to say, I love you more often before I left the room to go to bed. Originally, we bought this book as a library book and checked it out as worth buying. It's good too, so it is a nice book to save for the last few minutes before bedtime.

   Great for connecting with your child
My 22 month old daughter loves this book just. Each page has a small sentence that begins I like it when '' and ends with something a child would like to help, we splash, etc. The pictures with their simple colors and Penguin illustrations always elicit a smile and the words with their primary messages convey heartfelt feelings to mother and father and child. We enjoy being the pages, especially when it comes to hugs and kisses. And that is even more important at this age, at any age.

   A special moment still and my baby is now 3
I began reading this book to my son when he was an infant. On the page where it mentions a kiss, I kiss him, a tickle, I tickle him and hold his hand on the page it mentions. He always asked over and over for this book. And now he is three and too old for the book, but still loves the story. When we are walking, I sometimes recite a few lines and it brings us to those special tickle, kiss moments. I bought this book and cherished it again in board book form for my now 10 month old.    Simple in the way that great classic children's books can be simple
We read this every night as part of the ritual of bedtime. It is largely gender neutral, largely timeless activities and doesn 't matter whether the big penguin is a parent or another type of caregiver, so that it may have very broad appeal. The page with me features a large radioboombox that dates it, but it does not much matter to us. Easy to memorize for pre-readers and fun to act each page out of.

   Best Bedtime Book
This is my favorite book at bedtime for toddlers. We love how the book shows activities similar to what we did all day and the activities wind into bedtime. My toddler loves manifesting the different actions. I think that repetition in the words creates a perfect tone for bedtime. I also find the pictures adorable, especially the ones of the big penguin hugging the little penguin.

   Bright bold colors and joyful text make this book a winner
Like Goodnight Moon, The Runaway Bunny and others, this is a book that should be in everyone's library. Very good for those with an ASD as it provides daily information about concrete activities in a predictable way. Highly recommended for a good first read book by Aloud.
