Not as good good as his others

We own almost ever Elephant and Piggie, all Knuffle Bunny books and some Pigeon books. I find them all so creative and funny ''. This one was just not as entertaining and was a little difficult to follow for my 5-year-old. The story is only so-so and the tacked-on squirrel jokes and fun facts felt random and unnecessary.

Another great story by Mo Willems. The characters are new unless you have read Who is the Mystery Reader?

Mo William's does it again!
Derived From Web , Jan 3, 2019
We have the whole elephant and piggie set and were excited to receive the new books like Shoe Time and the Itchy Book. His books are better than the author's, which he recommends. It has some cute facts about teeth, in addition to a beautiful story about a few squirrels who lost a tooth.

Not a good read aloud for classrooms
Derived From Web , Nov 17, 2018
As a new teacher, I was thrilled that a first book by Mo Willems was available. My students love his Piggie and Gerald's Pigeon series so much! I have eagerly preordered this book. The title is appealing because so many of the loose ones are excited by the first wiggle of their little tooth finally coming out. I was hoping that there would be a better explanation for how and why teeth fall out, but after hearing this story my students had more questions than answers. The characters are also not easily distinguishable. It is therefore hard to follow the main character's plight. I am often asked to read books again. None of my students have asked to hear I Lost My Tooth since it was first read or picked up to read independently.

Disappointed :( But still LOVE Willems!
Derived From Web , Oct 16, 2018
My four year old son and I are huge fans of Mo Willems. He can tell you all the books we have by Willems, so I was very excited to add the Squirrels to our Gerald, Piggy and Pigeon collection, and pre-ordered this book in excitement. I spotted some of the same techniques and humorous instances that Willems used in previous books, but this book was quite different. The storyline seemed to be very universal over the place, not a lot of cohesion. It made me feel like a kid with ADHD must feel like when trying to watch a teacher perform an algebraic equation quickly on a projector screen while trying to keep it on their own paper. Even my 4-year-old was like, Wow! What is it? What happened just? While we continue to love and purchase books by Mo Willems, this was not our favorite. The fun is good but leaves you feeling a little anxious, scattered. I would recommend the G&P and Pigeon books over this one more.

Another hit

Another hit from Mo Willems was taken by Leems. His sense of humor tickles every funny bone delightfully. Especially enjoyable to have my six-year-old, who currently does not have any front teeth read this book!

Like Elephant and Piggie on Steroids
Derived From Web , Oct 4, 2018
At the time I read it, it sounded like it was going to be an elephant-and-piggie type book, but for more advanced readers. It turns out that it’s more like an elephant-and-piggie book that is pretty much the same format, just longer. In other words, I wouldn 't say that it is more complex, there is just more of it. While it isn 't exactly what I expected, it is not a bad thing at all. My first grader is a pretty advanced reader, but he still loved it. I thought it was also great ''. The squirrels are funny, the acorns are adorable and I like that it has different yet related sections. It is pretty hard to go wrong with Mo Willems, and I certainly hope that there will be more books by Unlimited Squirrels.

Second Graders LOVED It!!
Derived From Web , Oct 3, 2018
I have just read this wonderfully funny and engaging book to my second graders. There are so many teachable moments and reading strategies packed into this one book. I had to show my thinking as a reader in parts so that students would understand, but that is what makes a book worth reading. I recommending that I lost My Tooth! I know every teacher and parent of every. Mo Willems, thank you!
