For soon-to-be big brothers

This is a new book for my toddler to learn about what it will be like in the house with a precious baby. He is only 18 mo and will be 20 mo when his little brother is born, so I wanted to find a good way to present the idea ahead of time. The text is simple and not too long, but in my opinion would still be appropriate for 3-4 year olds. The baby in the book is fairly gender neutral, making it suitable for all big brothers'needs. There is a beautiful reassuring page that says : Daddy loves me, Mommy loves me, I am special to them. I am the only me in the whole world. I like that the focus is on ensuring that the new baby is not a replacement. The Tips for Parents at the back of the book also offers good advice.

Okay, Smaller Version
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
When I ordered this book, I did not pay attention, because it is very small. I think there is another one that is large and maybe in board book form. This is hardcover, regular pages. Not the greatest for a toddler. My fault, My fault. It is okay. It is a little bit shady. Not too wordy. Did not grab my grandson's attention. Cute idea though. I guess the size is okay for a toddler.

Been trying to find some good books for my 20 month old son, who will have a younger brother in the next two months, and appears that I'll have to keep looking. Like many others it is designed for, this book is entirely too basic and after opening it loses my interest a few pages later. I have tried to read it several times, and he never shows interest.

SUCH a cute book!
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
Added this to his son's Big Brother Survival Kit when his little sister was born, and he loves to read it to her now! Honestly, it is probably better suited for the younger new sibling, but it still served its purpose and he felt a very big part of the new addition! Plus it's cute and it makes the average, overly-hormonal new mom cry when she reads it, too!

Love it! You must love it! I am expecting a baby in April so I bought this book for my toddler son, and I think it really helped him understand a concept of what happens when his sister arrives. I read him the book until she arrives, I think it will even help the first few days she is here!

I had been looking for such a book for some time to give a new big brother, and this is the perfect gift for the new big brother '', welcoming a new member of the family. It tells a new story of the new arrival and the importance of the beautiful role for the big brother. This book history helps the older sibling adjust to the new arrival by reinforcing that he is special and that he now has a big responsibility of being a special brother.

Great for younger children!
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
I found this book very helpful in introducing my son to the concept of a new baby ''. I will be 23 months old when our daughter is born, so I had a difficult time finding books that cater to his age group. When I first started searching, a lot of the books I found were heavy in the dialogue and a little too mature for him. This one seems to fit the bill just right with fun illustrations and a very to the point '' script. He enjoys pointing out different objects in the illustrations with which he is already familiar. And now he loves to find the baby and the big brother on each page. I would definitely recommend this book for a younger child who is soon to be a big brother ''.

Excellent preparation for our toddler
Derived From Web , Feb 13, 2021
This book has been one of our two-year-old favorites and I really think that it helped him prepare for his new baby brother. The story is affirming the older sibling and encourages him to be excited about the baby while also setting expectations. I felt like the book really spoke at his level and I think it played a role in his adapting so well to the new baby.
