My daughter has loved the Gerald and Piggie books for about 3 years ...
Derived From Web , Apr 29, 2022
My daughter has enjoyed the Gerald and Piggie books since they were first published. We own every single one, and when I saw this new one, we had to get it for Christmas. Overall, the books seem to do a really good job of showing relationships between the main characters, McBride said. Spoiler Alert: The only thing I don't really like about this book is the way that Gerald tries to do the slop. He has tried it, but can barely taste it. We want our kids to try new foods, not take the tiniest taste buds and then go crazy, Raymond said. But he does try it, so it does model good habits that way." Now that my daughter is almost 7 years old, I'll be sad the day that she doesn't want to read about Gerald and Piggie anymore.

Another winner!
Derived From Web , Apr 29, 2022
I've fallen in love with the books, and now buy them all for myself. As a teacher, I used them with my first graders and even the struggling readers could read them after one time. It helps kids learn about dialog, reading facial expressions, verbal expression when reading aloud — as well as getting along with friends, caring about them, tolerance of differences, etc.

Big hit for a 7 yr old
Derived From Web , Apr 29, 2022
Bought a few for my nephew's 7th birthday. It was such a huge hit, Broadway veteran Bernadette Peters said of the smash. He absolutely loves them, says Blair. He enjoyed reading them and thought they were hilarious, too, Ms. Caramore said. The reading level would be good for maybe 5 or 7 years old, or a parent could read to a younger child. The quality of the books is amazing and the length of the story is perfect, not too short but not so long it loses its attention.

but does so to make his friend happy. She'll put the "small taste" close to her ...
Derived From Web , Apr 29, 2022
Whenever I want her to try something new, we start reciting Piggy and Gerald's adventures when Gerald doesn't want to taste slop, but makes his friend happy. She'll put the small taste close to her mouth and we'll both say, 'You can do it! Of course she tries to finish off her taste test like Gerald, but saying I really don't like it - but I like you! If I ignore this part, she will eat after her tasting adventure.

My 3. 5 year-old daughter ADORES Gerald and Piggie ...
Derived From Web , Apr 29, 2022
My daughter ADORES and her sister ANGIE. This is the 14th book in the "Elephant and Piggie" series purchased by Friends of Animals. It was a present, and she was so excited to read it as soon as she opened the wrapping paper. The illustrations are cute and the book is well done. My daughter has asked to read this one maybe 2 or 3 times at first, but now has lost interest completely. She still prefers the earlier ones.

Funny short book
Derived From Web , Mar 8, 2021
My 7 year old LOVES the book. It's a very simple book, Raymond said. Its reminiscent of a little "green eggs and ham" with a little twist. I'll probably buy more of these books, since this one was such a hit.

It's a great read, and my kids love Mo Willems, too. My oldest started reading the books when he was 4 and still loves the humor of 9-year-olds.

Cute story in the tradition of the Elephant and Piggie books
Derived From Web , Apr 19, 2019
It was a no brainer, said executive producer Scott Weber, "because my kids love this series and I was happy to get a couple new ones to put into the rotation." This story is cute and has a nice message about trying new things you may not like, Sosa said. But it would have been nice if Elephant had at least tried a normal size of the slop versus a drop, because I am dealing with a super picky eater at home, said Jennette Tamayo. Just about everything about this kid is wrong, so I'm not surprised.

Best book ever!

It's hard to recommend this book over Good Charlotte. It's just that the expressions on Piggy and Gerald's faces are spot on. Thanks, Willems, for sharing your talent with us.
